28 days plus 8 bank (public) holdidays

As a student, I guess you could call my M-F work.. considering I'm an aviation major and there is A LOT to do. On weekends, I go home to work at the hospital. I really never have any time off to just sit and relax, but it hasn't gotten to me yet and I'm lookin forward to the hefty check when I finally get out of college.

I only work 13 days a month

I get three weeks paid, plus three personal days and two sick days. Not bad I guess.

This year I have 15 scheduled Holidays and election days off.

I earn 12 Vacation Days per year.

I earn an additional 5 Vacation Days for length of tenure.

I earn 6 Sick days this year.

I also earn 3 Personal days.

You do the math.

Plus, I have the carry over from previous years.

Military, so I get up to 30 days paid leave per year, plus i can take additional leave if I get sick or have some sort of emergency that mandates being away from work. This is in addition to any federal holidays or unit down days.

IS NICE!

25 days regular vacation and then all over time is given in days not money, so about 25 days more.

I voted 'I am a student', even though Im no longer a student, I just wish I was!

I am a composer of music and a musical instrument teacher tho so I have a similar life to that of a student, hence I get holiday time whenever I can afford it!

Thirty Days, although as its a family buisness I can swing extra if I need them.

I'm a student so I don't work September-May but I have two part time jobs during the summer so my vacation time is pretty much whenever I don't put in for shifts.

No paid vacation ever though

I get 22 days, and that's my vacation, sick and personal time. I just got a bump up from 17 after having been at my company for 4 years.

Most I've ever had in over a decade-and-a-half of professional work is 25 days at a previous company (again that's vac/sick/pers). I thought that was almost more than I could ever use.

I think I read a while back that the U.S. and Japan get the least amount of vacation. And keep in mind that "vacation/holiday" in the U.S. doesn't always mean "not working." At my company, if you were on vacation in Guam and sleeping at 2 am and didn't answer your Blackberry, you could get some grief about it later.

8 days holiday.

Add to that about 12 days a year for personal time.

And yea. . .I work some of those days too.

I just left a company that offered six weeks from the gate for two weeks now. But, long story short, for a better quality of life with my family, a promotion, a raise and a huge increase in job security, I consider that well worth losing four weeks of vacation.

I am a student so I get breaks from school....but im also employeed full time so my holidays consist of:

- 80 hrs of vacation time a year
- 80 hrs of sick time a year (which I tend to use as supplement vacation time because I am made of steel and never get sick )
- thanksgiving off
- christmas off

thats about it

30 days paid vacation a year. 2.5 days a month. Can save it up to 60 days.

That doesn't include holidays/comp days.

I'm retired....

I get 3 weeks (15 working days) of PTO; paid time off. That goes to cover vacation and sick days. Including the bank holidays, I get a total of 19 days off in a year.

Also, my PTO days do not roll over into the next year, so pretty much I use the rest of them the month before my annual review.

I'm a college student.

So that's four months in summer and around a month and a half of days off.

I get 2 full Weeks and 3 floating holidays, then another 7 unpaid sick days That I can use if I have to.

Full time worker in the hospitality industry for ten years in Australia and I get 4 weeks off a year, works out to about 24-28 days.

I listed student. Although I've been sick for the last 18 months, nothing serious, just really painful; I expect to be well enough to get back on the horse soon.

I'm American. I don't get Holiday, I get Vacation.

Wow, you Americans really don't get a lot of vacation. It seems sad to me, always working, life's too short for that.
Here in Belgium the law states you get a minimum of 20 days vacation. Then depending on your job you get more.

I have the following:
20 days standard
4 days extra because of the years i allready worked
11 extra because i work 40hours a week and i have a 38hour contract
15 paid holidays
I do have to say i'm above average, i work for a university.

Also i can stay home 1 day a month without a docter's note...

Well, I'm an intern, so I don't have any benefits...and it's been that way for over two years...I haven't had a vacation since I finished highscool. I worked all the days off I had while I was in college, and now the only days off I have are weekends

EDIT: When I get fulltime, I'll be getting 14 personal days

Never got mine. During the interviews when i know i have won the guy over i ask and vacation guaranteed? 'Yes" and then when that time comes i am stuck working.

In America we would call you a socialist pig because for some reason not having a risk of death an the like is good enough treatment for workers. My dad worked every day of his life save weekends and even then he would usually get called in on Saturday. His lack of complaining wasn't the sign of strength his dad taught him. It was a sign of weakness to corporate douche baggerey.

27 days standard work package + 10 paid bank holidays.

That sounds awesome, but I know some other countries who have it even better!
