Okay, I know its been a little while, but I have a gakton of new stuff coming up this weekend. Expect Fire Dragons, Striking Scorpions, Warlocks, a finished Wraithlord, and some WIP shots of new Destroyers, Howling Banshees, and a Destroyer Lord.

So I used my Eldar army for the first time tonight. Played against Tau for the first time and learned what a royal pain in the ass they can be when they are all in cover and pass 75% of their saving throws. Bottom line, I got shot to pieces right off the bat, and my units that could have made a difference naturally made horrendously bad rolls.

On a related note, Broadsides can go die in a fire.

Ironically, if I had used my Necrons I may very well have won. All I would have needed to do is drop the Monolith on top of them and then immediately warp in my wraiths to deal with his Broadsides.

So I played against Blood Angels tonight, and seriously, screw those guys. He wasnt even using a super cheesy list (no Sanguinor, thank God) but the fact that all is Marines had jumppacks and FNP meant that my infantry accomplished absolutely nothing. Seriously this is the second time in a row where those good for nothing Dire Avengers have been utterly wiped out in a single round of shooting. The only one of my units that did anything other than die embarrasingly was my Seer Council who slaughtered an Assault Squad and then proceeded to shred a Baal Predator.

The new SM are f**king ridiculous. What were they thinking? SM don't need any more bling than they've already got.

Seriously, the FNP spam is utterly rediculous. Assault squads are bad enough news for me in that they can haul ass across the board and into CC in a turn or two, and then on top of it they all have meltaguns, flamers, and FNP on top of their 3+ armor save. Basically they just zoom around the board killing everything that moves and shrugging off insane amounts of firepower from units that are specifically designed to be superior shooters. Seriously, just feth Blood Angels

Yeah and i wasted £8 on that interim blood angels codex in white dwarf

Sorry for the delays everyone. Expect to see some changes sometime this weekend. Bottom line: my Necrons suck and are consistently tabled by MEQ. I am shelving them until they get an update that actually makes them fun to play.

Expect major Eldar updates starting this weekend. My friend has an assload of unpainted Eldar that he doesnt use, and is selling them to me for rediculously cheap. Expect an Avatar and bulked out Aspect squads (including Dark Reapers). They may not be fully painted by then as I am working extra hours this week and won't have a lot of painting time, but I will try to post WIPs.

Which brings me to the latest (and most exciting news). Tired of losing constantly, I went and picked up a few Tyranids over the weekend. After reading their codex I laughed maniacally at the possibilities. Thus was born Hive Fleet Typhon. I currently have a Hive Tyrant, three Tyranid Warriors, some Termigants, and a Lictor. All are still WIP, the Tyrant is on hold till the mini drill I ordered arrives so I can pin his arms on. I will try to have the Warriors painted by this weekend

Wow, the improvement in your painting is really good. It gives me hope (My first few models look like crap). Your early models were really thickly painted, but you improved there.

One criticism: The white on the Wraithlord looks a bit flat.

Yeah the white on the wraithlord was a big issue for me. I had undercoated it black and forced me to layer on the white and even then it dulled it down.

Hey everyone, so sorry about the hiatus! Over the last week or so I didnt sleep very well and worked later than usual, net result was serious lack of painting motivation. I am happy to say that I am back on track now, and have finished several new pieces and photographed them. I would upload them now but I have work in the morning and laundry that needs to be put away, so I will have to wait for tomorrow to upload. Anyway, thanks for your patience!

As you can see, I am definitely trying to build up CQB power for my Eldar. So far, Assault has been what always kills me. I plan to remedy that

And now for my new (and totally awesome) Hive Fleet Typhon!
These guys were definitely a whole new breed for me when it comes to painting. I've gotten used to the simple metallics of the Necrons and the clean bright colors of the Eldar, and now I'm painting rough flesh and chitin. I wanted to use different colors from what I've aleady been using, and I didn't want to use the same color schemes as the ones in the codex, so I finally settled on grey flesh and black armor plates. The real trick was figuring out how to keep this color scheme from being too dull (grey and black = not particularly eye-catching). So I decided to make heavy use of red hilights on the black parts, and then I added a thick coat of gloss varnish on the armor to give the same sheen as on a beetle's shell. Hope you guys like it

Wow, your painting have improved even more and your Avatar wip looks awesome! I have never painted any eldar in my life so can''t tell how to paint your Avatar tbh, Iv'e seen alot of aproches on painting him. Some go with very bright "burning" colours and some leave the flamy stuff in the recess and paint the armourplates to represent lava. Choose what fits your taste/style the most, I thin it will be great either way

So, just a quick battle report. Played 2000 pts my Eldar vs Iron Warriors CSM tonight. Lost (as usual) but for once made a strong showing and killed a lot of his stuff before the game ended. Epic moments included Fire Dragons melta-raping some METAL BAWKSES, the Avatar eating Marines, and The Falcon That Could Not Die But Spent A Lot Of Time Stunned.

Epic fails included my Seer Council stupidly assaulting gang of Khorne Berserkers in cover (STUPID STUPID IDEA), My Banshees disembarking too early and getting wasted, and my Guardians incessantly failing to hit things with their bright lance.

All in all, I learned some things and hopefully will be able to kick some ass next time around.

Hey everyone, again sorry about the hiatus. Been busy with work and visiting girlfriend. However, tomorrow I plan to finally get some photos posted of my completed Avatar, and hopefully some WIPs of my brand new Fire Prisms.

Also, my IRL friend HAVOC1331, who lurks here and occasionally posts, has an awesome Guard army in the works. He didn't like the Leman Russ, so he used modified M41 Bulldog tank kits, which turned out AWESOME. He also used late-WWII German Army camoflague on his troops and vehicles, which looks amazing. Once he gets the rest of the pics uploaded, he plans to start up a P&M blog or at least a personal gallery. I will post the link here once its up. Anyway, here's one of his tanks, and some of his infantry.

That tank your friend's using seems a bit big for a Leman Russ proxy. Could you get/ get him to include pics of either A) the tank and some guardsmen, or B) beside a GW Leman Russ? Otherwise, cool stuff as usual

Well I can tell you his tank is bigger than a Russ. Its about the size of my Fire Prism. Its a slightly bigger target, but since my buddy only plays for fun and doesnt do GW tournaments it works just fine.
