Don't get me wrong I like to win, but at the end of the day as long as the Boyz got stuck in quickly and had a good fight I'm happy with any outcome.

Solid win (you took a few licks but came out on top). I don't enjoy encounters which are too narrowly decided, as it often feels dissapointing to know that something as slight as an Armour Save or Glancing Hit could have changed things completely. Nor do I enjoy entirely Smashing my Opponent - like I could! - because it's really not enjoyable; often, both Players will know the outcome. I enjoy being on top though, so I've chosen a Solid Win, which is somewhere in between the above two.

You want to try your best to win, and you want them to be a real challenge. Coming out just on top shows it was a challenge and you can congratulate your opponent for being the hardest you have faced in awhile.

I really like giving someone a good thumping, massacre type win. However, I never play that way due to wanting my opponent to have fun as well. Solid wins are great as well. I think overall though that my opinion is skewed in that I have more draws than wins so getting a nice win in is incredibly rare for me.

I like close battles, it means that I'm facing a great opponent. Or that I suck. Either way, I'm having a hell of a time. I couldn't care less about crushing an opponent's army, there's no fun to be had if the battle is a foregone conclusion.

Close games are always the most fun, in my opinion. I always enjoy 500pts matches against my mate's eldar, and we nearly always draw with hardly any models left each. Then again, a close win is better than a draw!
Smashing 'em to a pulp is embarrassing, and losing can range from utter balls to just as enjoyable as a win, depending on your opponent, their seriousness and their sense of humour!

I like anything from a neat win to a tie. Ties are probably more preferable, as I usually forget about objectives and concentrate on killing my opponent (not literally... yet ¬.¬). Contesting a late objective is usually what I go for.
In annihilation matches, a tie for me usually signifies slaughter. Lots of casualties = me happy.
...and people wonder why I chose Khorne as my favourite Chaos God...

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I went with "slight win". I love it when you think you've lost and you've nearly given up all hope, only to have a sudden stroke of genius and you pull victory from the jaws of defeat.

When I do play its really more of a social thing. I don't really care if I win or lose (though its usually the later I'd have to admit), as long as I have a fun time doing it and can get a bit of banter in with my opponent. Seeing as I play a themed army and spend more time on modelling than learning tactics, its usually the case where I end up getting my ass handed to me-Sanguinery Guard can go feth themselves-, but seeing as I play a force that's fluff pretty much makes them a bunch of neo-facsist pigs, I'm not too bothered. =P

I chose Solid Win. I love the games where my boyz kill everything they aim their shootas at, but it's not fun if you completely annihilate your enemy without losing a single wound anywhere. With that said, if one of my units begin to really take a beating, I will go the extra mile to see them get wiped out. It's probably slightly OCD-ish, but I just can't stand to see mob of three or four boyz running around trying to do something. I'd rather they just die in that case.

Satisfying when you DESTROY everything on the opposing team without taking much damage.

I'm glad to see slight wins are preferred.
In a tournament setting, a massacre is pretty much required to get anywhere. I really hope that people don't go out intending to dominate their casual games. I feel slightly disgusted when I rolled people. It's no fun for you and more importantly, it's no fun for your opponent.
