So every person he encountered wherever he was was either killed or tackled by him? They talk to locals all the time man....his training is probably more hard-wired into him than his alleged PTSD is anyway...
tackling children? please...
I don't think you know too many 12 year old kids....
....and yes I agree
You have no clue, what kind of things go on over there, you are ignorant beyond belief. Until you've served in combat zone, you honestly cannot give an informed opinion on the matter. You just don't have any idea, and that's the crux of the matter. I don't care what kind of stories you've heard, or what movies or shows you've seen. until you've been there, and know these people, and what they really go through, your opinion just doesn't matter.
So please, don't spread your ignorance, like you know what your talking about.

Uh dude, that's nothing but an appeal to authority, with nothing to actually substiate your point.
You are right that most of us haven't been in combat, and can't really know what it was like. Most of us accept that, and try to extend our sympathies and understanding to soldiers whenever we can (some of us even manage to recognise the hardship suffered by all people caught in war, not just our soldiers). But that's got nothing to do with a kid telling a story about how cool it was when a marine flipped out and assaulted a kid. That story does no respect to the marine, and is obviously not true.

And, I just said that I have seen that happening, and then, you tried to refute my post, acting like you knew what you were talking about, despite being grossly ignorant.
sebster wrote:Sasori wrote:I could see this happening very easy, especially if he got back from a combat zone recently. The instincts don't just vanish, overnight, or in a short manner of time anyway. You have no idea, what that man has been through. I've seen much worse cases of PTSD happen, from far less provation.
Except the marine would have seen a lot of Arabic while he was over there, and his instinct wouldn't have been to tackle a dude every time he heard it. And how is talking another language be provocation?
And no kid seeing a grown man tackle a kid in the middle of a store is going to think that's cool, it'd be a pretty messed up thing to see, even if the marine's reaction is understandable it'd be a confronting thing to see him wig out like that. Nah, I think our friend has shot his mouth off, making up a story he thinks his cool, but hadn't really thought through.

There's a difference between accepting that one doesn't have first hand experience and being grossly ignorant. Part of that difference involves the ability to see a soldier tackle a boy and thinking an on-looker would think it was cool.
You're trying to make this into something it isn't, probably to wrist-slap us for not being sympathetic to returning soldiers. Don't. Fair point, he could have been saying something offensive in Arabic. Hypothetically, of couse, given this is is a story a kid made up.

My most awkward moment was when I was reading a book behind the counter and someone said 'I'm all set to buy these tanks' and I turned around and it was the guy I slept with a few days before... and his wife and kid.
That was pretty awkward all around.
.
Second most awkward- when I was starting my imperial guard army and the guy standing next to me while I was browsing jokingly said 'IG is a cigarette army. What are you, some kind of cigarette?' to which I simply responded 'yes, I am actually.' and he turned bright red and apologised about ten times.

Are you really going to keep spouting your garbage? For one, I was just trying to defend the "Alleged" marines actions, if they had happened, from the posters that think this is just a far-cry away of anything ever really happening. Which, it is not. I'm not lecturing you, on how you should treat, or act to returning soldiers, but I am letting you know that your point of view from what goes on over there, is not adequate.
So, do not make assumptions of what my posts mean. just "Don't."
Here is your ignorance, which I will quote again
Except the marine would have seen a lot of Arabic while he was over there, and his instinct wouldn't have been to tackle a dude every time he heard it. And how is talking another language be provocation?
Once again, when someone comes into a local place, and just starts speaking Arabic, in America, what do you think his reaction is going to be? And yes, I do think, there are some things, that if you don't have first hand experinace, you will never understand. this is one of them.
for the "onlooker thinking it's cool" Didn't a poster immediately follow that, saying, "I wish that would happen here" oh, they did. But your right, everyone's reaction would be the same, every kid would be frighted if this situation happened, because of course, you know how everyone reacts in any situation.

I've said this one before and wouldn't believe it if I hadn't been a witness. At a fairly large Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament a few years ago one of the top players in Texas was going up against a kid I didn't recognize a table away. One of their rounds the kid gets one-turn killed on turn 2 or 3 and immediately stands up and walks away towards the door, even leaving his stuff. the guy continues through the doors and never came back in. Everyone around was a little confused when they caught what had happened until someone noticed the puddle in the kids seat. The guy had literally beat the piss out of him

Okay , so , both to get this on topic and to embaress my family .
My aunt , which lives in DK and is into this hobby , went into the FLGS the other day to paint . Anyways , like we all do , she had to use the toilet . Take note that this is a place were staff mostly expects hairy , sweaty , dirty stereotype nerds to walk in . Well , the toilet would have been clean for those stereotypes , but for someone that puts make-up on even when she is'nt going outside , oh no . So she cleans the toilet using toiletpaper , a sink and the brush thingie thats used for cleaning toilets . Took her a lot of time , and her face was red and she was almost fatiques becouse the room was so small, and she was trying to hurry up . Anyways , this guy walks into the bathroom and lets out a huge gasp ! Then procides to as her what the feth she did in there . Very ungrateful. Another guy tells the staff member that everyone has to take a gak every now and then. She told me that she was so close to hitting that guy and the staff member , if it were'nt the only FLGS nearby she would have .
She now uses the toilet of a coffee shop nearby .

Luckily his little sister came in with him and wanted a demo game as well. I went to the back where my coworker was having lunch and gave him the choice: Paint lesson or demo game with little girl. He thought he was getting a bargain when he chose paint lesson. It took me 5 mins to run through a demo with the girl and he was sitting with this annoying idiot (he was later banned from the store for being so stupid/annoying) for about an hour trying to paint his Skin Marines. Me and my friend were building a imperial guard/ork army when a red shirt came up to us and asked if the minis we were building came from Games Workshop. I told him yes since I bought those guardsmen there. but my friend on the other hand was bored and said no, he did not buy them from GW. The redshirt then asked us to leave the store. My friend smirked and said I bought them from a FLGS but yeah they are GW minis. I facepalmed so much when that happened.
