My guess is camouflaging an 8 foot tall pile of metal and ceramics with a nuclear reactor on it's back is a rather pointless gesture.

because Rowboat Girly Man thought that camoflage made his butt look big and after writing it in his diary, the rest of the marines decided not to either

Even if they did wear camo they would still run in screaming and shouting.

Found another quote:
The uniforms of the Imperial Guard are camouflaged in order to protect their wearers by hiding them from sight.

The principle is that what the enemy cannot see he cannot kill. This is not the way of the Adeptus Astartes. A Space Marine’s armour is bright with heraldry that proclaims his devotion to his Chapter and the beloved Emperor of Mankind. Our principle is that what the enemy can see, he will soon learn to fear…”

Zweischneid wrote:No way man. A Space Marine in itself is scary. But a Marine WITHOUT helmet wears at least 3-times as much plot-armour as a Marine with helmet. And heaven forbid if the Marine would also happen to have an intimidating looking, vertical scar. Then you're surly boned. Those guys are the worst. Not a chance I'd say.

Camo would be an affront to the armour's machine spirit!

Does their armour even have a spirit? I mean, none of it that I know of is mechanised, its like futuristic hockey pads, not an animatronic suit of armour.

:O You blaspheme so freely against the Omnissiah? I will have to recite the proper binaric litanies of soothing in order for the power servos in these suits of armor to work properly now. Thanks a lot.

Heresy! It is in fact you who blaspheme! To compare the honoured carapace armour with the most holy Power Armour is heretical!

That that was in reference to Power Armor not the carapace armor of Scouts.
