I'm collecting Catachans at the moment... got a squad of 3 executioners, with all 3 guns plasma'd. Because of the green-and-vomity-yellow colour combo on the tanks, I paint the plasma coils a really bright glowing orange, (red base, yellow extreme highlights, everything else shades or orange) which contrasts well with both the green and the yellow.

Hmm I think I might go with a yellow for mine just to be diffrent.
This is 40k after all and there is always some fluff somewhere that goes agianst the grain. Thats what makes 40k great.

I play chaos so... purple  I just feel like purple is a very chaos-y colour(I also paint my troops eyes the same purple)
Black undercoat, Bleached bone on the coils. two washes with watered down Warlock purple and a drybrush with tentacle pink or squid pink(whatever it is) on the corners Looks chaos-esque and thats what I like about it. Plus it looks amazing when used on black legion troops

My Imperial Plasmaguns are all Snot Green, but I've always seen Ork Kustom Mega-Blastas being orange for some reason...
(At least when it fires anyways  )
