That was the worst of the five I have seen, I guess I don't like Mark Gatiss as much.
I hated the Minority Report bit where Holmes was waving his hands around, I also thought Cumberbatch was forced to overact a little. He reminded me of Jim Carey at the start when he was complaining about the lack of tabs...
Wasn't bad, but it was the worst ive seen so far.

I kind of like the overacting and general silliness, Holmes is a little mad after all.

Some people do.. Im one of those blokes who gets embarrassed when Im sat by muself though. I saw the male Shakira on TV once for about ten seconds and I nearly threw up, when I see an actor being far too wacky and over the top I feel uncomfortable and need to change channel.
Weird I know, but hey ho.

Hah! No I'm alright with gay people, its just.. I don't know.. ridiculous over acting that makes me uncomfortable. Cringe worthy stuff.
I turned Borat off after ten minutes due to that, The office always made me uncomfortable, and children's television with dancing adults makes me bite my own fist in rage and frustration.
Oh and I was playing world of warcraft once and some people were getting married in the church at Stormwind...
I had to turn the monitor off and sobbed in shame for twenty minutes.

Into a silk hankerchief per chance ?
Count yourself lucky you don't have kids then, you have to watch children's tv and performers at parties all the time. Probably why the dads tend to congregate in the kit hen with the beers I suppose.
As for cumberbatch, it's one of the reasons I quite like the series - Sherlock is very ostentatious and OTT, while Watson is so much more grounded. Sardonically taking the piss half the time while trying to keep up. I can associate with that.

I liked them all so far, overacting is kinda what Sherlock si supposed to do, it's his thing. One thing I don't like is the pulling of punches for a more general audience. Where's the fist fights and the drug use? I know they kinda did a round about with the whole "drugs bust" part but they made it so anyone who is under a certain age would have no clue that Sherlock becomes a doper the second he is bored. That being said it's still really enjoyable show, too bad they are only three episodes in a season. Who does that?

Is this what the sum total of British TV boild down to - a remake of Sherlock Holmes?? I'm not against Sherlock, au contraire, the Private Life of Sherlock Holmes is a great film, check it out. But as I've moaned before, TV doesn't seem to take risks anymore.

I think I mimic corpses feeling on the end situation, I kept looking for ways that Holmes would fake it but the way it was presented seemed pretty final to me. Once again Watson was good (must have more IMO) especially his final words. All in all another good series and once again disappointingly short at only 3 episodes. Now why didn't I use spoilers as per the above, simple Series 3 has already been commisioned:- BBC wrote:Sherlock to return for third series Sherlock will return for a third series, its creators have revealed after a dramatic conclusion to the second run of the BBC One drama. Ahead of series two, co-creator Steven Moffat told BBC News there was "no guarantee we'll be bringing him back". But on Sunday night, Moffat write on Twitter: "Of course there's going to be a third series - it was commissioned at the same time as the second. Gotcha!" It was watched by an average audience of 7.9m, overnight figures show. That compared with the 10.7 million average audience of the 1 January opening episode. The modern take on Arthur Conan Doyle's tales stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role. 'Complete freedom' Moffat's co-creator Mark Gatiss also wrote on Twitter: "Gotcha! And of course there'll be a third series!" "It's like telling the story again so there's no guarantee we'll be bringing him back” Steven Moffat in December Conan Doyle's The Final Problem, published in 1893, ended with Holmes and his arch-enemy Professor Moriarty apparently falling to their deaths at the Reichenbach Falls in Switzerland. Conan Doyle later resurrected his hero. Sunday night's episode was called The Reichenbach Fall. In interviews in December to promote the show - which also stars Martin Freeman as Holmes' sidekick Doctor Watson - Moffat, Gatiss and cast members had hinted the second series could be the last. Asked by BBC News, how much freedom writers had to move away from the plot of Conan Doyle's original stories, Moffat said: "Complete freedom. It's like telling the story again so there's no guarantee we'll be bringing him back." And asked if there would be a third series in an interview published by website Digital Spy last week, Moffat replied: "If he survives." The three-part series has been lauded by critics. The Guardian's Sam Wollaston said Sunday night's episode was, at times "faithful to Sir ACD's The Final Problem, then it will wander, taking in mobile phone technology and computer hacking and what have you". "But it doesn't feel like cheating; more like an open relationship, agreed by both parties." The Daily Telegraph's Sarah Crompton said Cumberbatch was "riding the wave of what has been a triumph".

Bit of a cheat really to have such a dramatic ending and not explain it until the next series. That said there were a few clues offered during the episode and presumably Molly is involved somewhere.
I continue to have somewhat mixed views about Sherlock, though overall I've enjoyed them, mainly because of Cumberbatch and Freeman. I don't think the writers did themselves many favours fast forwarding to The Final Problem so quickly. It's kind of the big dramatic finale, so where do you go from here? Odd that the recent films made the same mistake too.

Yeah but 'The Return of Sherlock Holmes' is the most infamous cash-in in history. Conan Doyle bowed to publisher and fan pressure, completely compromising his artistic integrity. I mean the whole of Stephen king's book/film 'Misery' is inpspired by it.
