Nobody minds unpainted armies to the extent that they'll refuse games. The only time you'll ever see it is when you actively are known as a bandwagon hopper or have a bad reputation.
Then the "I only play painted armies." excuse comes in real handy.
I think this is the truth.
That, or they're just an elitist asshat who doesn't want to play with "lesser players" or something equally ridiculous. But I imagine the bandwagon theory is closer to the general truth.

I love a well painted army but that's not saying all of my figs are complete by any means. But i really don't mind playing a person with an unpainted army because I'm only playing for fun.

It's always more fun for me to play a painted army than a non-painted one. That being said, I would never refuse a game with someone who didn't paint their figures... but I probably wouldn't seek them out for a game either.

I do prefer fighting a painted army but I do allow it . A painted army makes the atmosphere in a battle more real.

I don't mind it, but some people seem about ready to pick fights over it.
Especially the artsy elitist crowd, they openly insult people who don't paint and then insult them for not painting at the proper level of skill. Friggin' elitist pricks, worthless like fake tits on a zombie...

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

This will look much more respectable than leaving them Grey, as well as much more respectable as me trying to go all-out on the miniatures and making a hash of it.
You know...I don't wash my black legion marines, and I'm starting to feel like a bad person, with all this talk of washes I never found much benefit in washing marines anyway, they're too flat. I wash the recesses, but that's it.
Just a quick, OTTOMH example, wasn't meaning to declare it as a particular standard, or a necessary step. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
No,no. You're fine. I can't wash black legion marines anyway, they're black! Automatically Appended Next Post: Melissia wrote:I don't mind it, but some people seem about ready to pick fights over it.

We've got a guardsman player at our GW like that. He takes enormous pride in the fact that his entire army (like 6,000 points) is well painted. Honestly, I think if he's gonna be a gak-head about it, he might want to stop playing altogether, since most of the people in our GW come in with unpainted or mediocre things....

I visibly cringe at unpainted armies, to me i cant understand why people who spend the time and money to assemble their minis to not paint em (sure some people ahve realy busy lives, but if you can assemble a squadron you can atleast paint the darn thing to)
edit : jsut so i dont seem like a fething bad person to play against, i dont refuse battles cause yes this hobby is all about ahving fun, sure the unpainted army is anoying to me, but im used to playing against my buddies who have ungodly amounts of thick/ chiped paint/ brocken minies (one of my friends razorbacks had a run in with a fire-work last halloween, just to give you guys a ruff idea) that even the most shoddy of paintjobs is pleasing to my eyes

I don't mind them, but two painted armies facing off against each other will ussualy be more attractive than a mass of grey.
I say 'attractive' becuase the person with the painted army might still be a pain, while the guy behind the mass of grey could be a great opponent.

It gets really annoying when people have no intentions on painting their army. At least get a base color down...prime black or prime white then fill in the skin...its not hard nor does it take long. I would never turn a game down, but it just makes the gaming experience so much better.

I'll play against unpainted armies. I'll enjoy it a lot more if it's well painted. I think I would have a lot more fun losing in a close match against a beautifully painted and converted army than winning against some ghosts (and I enjoy winning).

It doesn't really *bother* me per say, but I really do prefer painted models. All unpainted or all primed armies are much more difficult to differentiate between the units.
