You'll actually also notice that several hundred Marines die over the course of the game - or less, if you're good at keeping your own guys alive.

...when your Marines die, and you replenish them using a beacon, do you think those are the same Marines coming back from the dead?

No.

You're playing several hundred marines, not several.

Just a handful at a time.

Blood Ravens are darn cool! Also, they are mentioned in the painted guys section of the most recent Marine Codex. The lamest is probably the Blood Angels, in my honest opinion. Don't rip me bloody ead off though. Either blood angels, or my own chapter until if de-*%&@ the fluff of them.

As for my opinion... the Sons of Malice. Their fluff is ridiculously fanboyish, and to Sisters players it's just plain insulting.

The Black Legion is Awesome.

They have some nice background, but they are kinda like the Ultramarines of the Chaos Space Marines. They have no real theme and pretty generic looking tbh.

funny you should mention sons of malice.... Melissa.... I actually like them alot quite independent of their fluff battle with sisters... I just think their quartered color scheme is cool and it makes sense that chaos would have a god personifying the force of self destruction, since chaos by its very nature works against itself so much.

Besides dread axes, their chapter weapon if you will, were the shiznit in 3.5

yeah black legion is definitely the chaos counter part to ultra marines. I dont like the way they redid their fluff as being a mish mash of renegades all wearing the same armor. It used to be that they were the hard-azzed embittered praetorians of a fallen god, the most die hard fanatical haters of the imperium. Now their fluff is pretty disorganized. I also like their character. Other renegades worship the chaos gods. The Black Legion can worship 1 god 1 week and another the next, because their real religion is.... themselves. As with Lucifer pride was their down fall.

about the poop storm.... if it happens it wont be from me. I've already had the sisters discussion I'm pretty much done with it. If people start arguing about it I'll sit it out.

I know the old fluff well. I have 3.5 too. But I still find them dull. Might be because of the studio army I guess. Seeing the same scheme over and over does that.

Always something new to learn!

I have to admit to really never having heard of the Sons of Malice.

They are certianly no more fanboy-ish than Sisters themselves, actually.

What they are is silly, much like most of the Chaos Space Marines outside of the Original Sinners.

Anyway, the problem with threads like this is that someone is going to be a 'funny guy' and say Space Wolves, then the Space Wolves fans jump in, rage, rinse, repeat.

Basically, threads that are, in essence, negative?

Not sure how much longer this one's got, really.

Meh, exaggeration on my part but I'd read that they were small in numbers... even with the volunteers from other sources.

The lamer-est:

The like, Ultra-marine ones. Just because I hated them in the RT rulebook, let alone later.

Anyone else notice that the Lamentors.. are actually the Lame-ntors?

I vote for them being the lamest.. as they seem to be the ONLY chapter that even encorporates the word "Lame" in the chapter name.

The worst HAS got to be Rainbow Warriors, not only do they sound like space queers, but their based off of Aztec warriors? I don't know about you but I don't want to model my army off of people that got roflstomped by SPAIN. Thats allmost worse than being beaten by France...allmost

Smallpox had nothing to do with that...

And Spain was undisputed master of ze world for night on a century!

What's wrong with Blood Ravens? at least they don't have the problems of other chapters.... apart the lulzy speach of some of their officers....

yeah... we were the true "plague bearers" of that time....after the rats...

tbh I think the biggest turn off for the Doom Eagles is how much they remind you that you are going to die eventually.

Doom Eagles don't look bad. They have a decent name, an oddly original colour scheme, and good contrast. My main problem with the Doom Eagles is that I don't really like metallic colours on miniatures.

However if someone was to paint up a chapter of Doom Eagles using a non metallic metal effect

Like THIS

Well surely then; they would be hands down the most awesome chapter ever!

The F-lame Falcons. Their fluff talks about how they all caught on fire in the heat of battle- a fire that did not hurt them, or their equipment, but only their enemies.

How do they respond to this miraculous sign of faith? They call for the inquisition because they think their geneseed is bad, then decide their geneseed is good and go party on their homeworld. The Inquisitor gets there, summons the Grey Knights and they finish off the burning marines.

That's right- a chapter of marines that is on fire. All the time. Always burning! All the time!
