Aren't those older models?

If ya want to do old models, this is the worst model GW has made thus far IMO.

I love 40k but like most players I dislike GW's behaviour.

Unlike some people I have had issues with GW retail staff upselling things and being obnoxious condescending prats who barely know anything about their hobby. I figure thats less institutional and more a case of those stores being staffed by morons who hire their moron friends to boost the moron population of the store.

I also dislike GW's attention span for things being misdirected, like LOTR. Sure it was good with the film tie-in and everything, but the last film is seven years old, and the game mechanics are really, really bad.

Necromunda and Mordheim could have done with the support, Blood Bowl, Epic and Warmaster could do with the ocasional spotlight or a revised edition of Gorka Morka. Inquisitor was given a lofty fanfair with its release and nearly a year afterwards was practically forgotten.

Or even within their primary cashcow, its taken nearly 14 years for the Dark Eldar to get anything new, the Necrons have languished in non-existence for some time and so have the inquistion factions. All because they felt they needed Space Marines that were like other Space Marines, but wore different hats.

Chaos Demons is another issue, I know why they did it, and consider it a massive dick-move for GW to do that to Chaos players and an even bigger insult to anyone hoping their Grotesques get updated.

At least they did the right thing by outsourcing DH, RT and DW.

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...

Personally I think the move to make Chaos Daemons its own army was a good one. I'm actually interested in a daemons army. I have zero percent interest in a Marines With Spiky Shoulders And Bad Attitudes army.

I'm with Eyeclonus on this. If they'd made it a combined LotD / Daemons army it would have been fine, but daemons in 40k are supposed to be stuck in the Warp until some psychic event weakens the barrier for them, whether that be a deliberate summoning, a psyker drawing on too much power, or a negative space wedgie like the Eye of Terror. Daemons that force their way into the material universe under their own power should have been left to WHFB.

Considering that fluff is what GW says it is, and the fluff was adjusted to allow Daemons to stand alone as an army, I'm not sure what you're on about.

I like 40K alot. Never used to. I thought it was like work and expensive hobby. Then I tried it and I'm not talented at all but I really like to paint. I'm about half and half player/paint. I really bitch in the context of loving the hobby and wanting to see a little more of this; less of that. I really like Blood angels, certain chapters marines, Space Wolves, Black Templars,Tyranids, some demons, most guard. I run Vostroyans and have alot of fun with it.

I've played and modelled 40k armies for about 15 years now. As the hobby progresses I enjoy the fluff of the 40k universe more and more, but at the same time I get more detached from the actual tabletop game.

The trend in the last couple editions of putting infantry on the back burner and making it all Mech all the time kills it for me. The Battle-reps consisting 3 Deffrolla Battlewagons VS 6 Predators have all the drama of mowing the lawn for me. I'll just keep playin the PC games and reading the books until things start to swing back towards the foot sloggers again

I'm the exact opposite. There's nothing I like more than a Gorkamorka-style army where there's enough room for everyone to get in a vehicle.

True that was fun, but we don't have GorkaMorkas vehicle rules, like boarding an enemy vehicle.

This is probably my biggest problem with miniature wargaming in general. Way too many folks playing them fit the stereotypes way too closely. Liking plastic soldiers is no excuse for lack of hygiene or impulse control with the deep-frier.

I think we need to start a club. No Fatties Allowed! lol

All joking aside, I do find that I have a very difficult time relating to other 40K players. I probably come across as aloof or snobbish even, but what can I possibly talk to these folks about, outside of the game? "Hey, that's an interesting stain on your shirt. Which fast food restaraunt did that come from?" I'm fit, healthy, wealthy and by comparison at least, wise. Their worlds seem to begin at the gamestore door and end at McGreasey's Burger Mart.

OMFG this guy has da plan! I totally relate to what your saying I tried my local game club last month for the first time and when I saw the dregs of humanity that made up the club I nearly cried. I dont know how these guys could manage to afford Forge world models/armies but some new clothes or deoderent products seemed to be outta reach. And on top of all that they assume I must be there to make trouble or tease them because I have alot of tatts and dont look like a wargamer but i deserve the chance to play with toy soldiers like anyone else damniit!

Damn I cant wait to the GW legal team codex comes out now there is a dex that will conquer all.

I feel your pain, brother. No wonder there aren't that many girls in this hobby. I can barely stomach most of these troglodytes, and I don't have to deal with their awkward advances (which are as hilarious as they are tragic).
