The 6E DoW list has far too many unit options. With Chaos Dwarf because of their smaller size, I think they'll just end up selling them in larger quantities to a set. They're kinda half the figure.
I think there is a particular simularity between Dogs of War and Chaos Dwarf, since the Chaos Dwarf act in a simialar capacity of selling their support to the other "chaotic" factions.
On the notion of "resin pikemen".... lets think about the thin and spindly pikes... WF better supply the pike as a metal piece.
Now that's optimism. I'm guessing you'll be charged the same, no matter what.
I mean, FW is charging 20 quid for 5 marines with NO GUN!
And while I realize making blocks of units it a different sort of purchase for WHFB players, both 40K and fantasy end up with similar amounts of models on the board.
Also, WF could produce groups of infantry as a "piece" to go onto a long stand. That would "reduce" the number is single miniatures.
But I'm betting they just make infantry for WHFB exactly as they do for 40K.

Why did I read that as "Goblin Gothic Armor Mercs"?

Didn't he leave to go to Starship Troopers? I thought he quoted creative differences and left GW a few years ago. Maybe I'm wrong.
I believe Rick Priestly was working on Lord of the Rings and Warhammer Historicals stuff.

The duellists, marauders, and haflings are the real problem kits.
A lot of redundancy in that. They could always trim it down. Or minimize the number of miniatures by making them more ambiguously armored, I don't like that but they could.
I think it'd make more sense just to drop a couple of those units out of the list, until a later time that they can revisit them.
We do have to consider the business model, unlike FW, WF can't rely on larger vehicle kits driving sales so it may become a matter of volume of units. Which would make the above list possible.

And that's why I originally suggested WF to focus on self-contained, single-config RoRs.

Fair enough. I just assumed people would be less likely to spend that much on models that are going to be hidden in the back of the regiment. Scottywan82 wrote:RoRs?

Chaos Dwarves had a very sinister feel to them, much darker than anything WHFB has in their lines currently.
It seemed lots of masks (I want to use the 300 immortal type reference but thats not quite right) but with a Slavik type feel.
Again these I am sure were test sculpts so may vary from what get produced but they made me more excited than anything I have seen for fantasy in a long time.....
In regards to the war mammoth I was referencing what was already sculpted as a scale, the titan size stuff I am not sure of but he told me expect that scale....I would think a dragon, giant or similar.
Dogs of war would not suprise me at all, and give them a chance to put out alot of initial units and than concentrate more units for the ones that sell well, I imagine the monsterous creatures will be generic for now.

Regiments of Renown - a unique, improved unit (typically +1 to some stat, with slightly improved gear) with an attached Hero instead of a Champion. Typically, the unit is named after the Captain.

Well, it's fairly obvious that they'll shift the resin terrain buildings that GW sells over to WF for starters.
I'm hoping for some awesome character models too.
Weapon/character upgrade packs would be neat too. Maybe some Teutogen guard that didn't have Amish beards, or some more Kislevite units.
Hmmmm. Kislev would be pretty decent to make as part of their first campaign book. They could introduce some Chaos, Empire and Kislev units/upgrades.

aka_mythos wrote:I personally wouldn't be surprised if Dogs Of War saw a return through WF since it fits there goals of doing as many units usable by as many armies possible. Dogs of War from GW's perspective died because preducability dictated lower volume methods, like metal or resin, since they were making what were all special character units.
So you think something like the Giants of Albion could be coming back through WF? Giants of Albion is quite a good one since their supposed to be the biggest Giants in the whole of Albion so they'd be a massive kit for WF to make.
Personally I'm hoping for Chaos Dwarf infantry at some point and agree you'd probably get more of them per unit than say, Orcs, though I'd also like to see a remake of the old CD Juggernauts (with either a bull or boar centaur pushing it). Also Lizardmen Arcanadons, Coatl and Thunder Lizards sound plausible
We've already had models from two old armies, WF seems like a great chance for many of those armies that never got shown much in WHFB (Eg Nippon, Araby and Albion) to make appearances, there are some things in each army which could be made by WF:
Araby Camel Riders, Elephants and Flying Carpets
Albion Fimir, Ogham Circle Scenery and Fenbeasts
Nippon Temple Dogs and Samuri
Those are just a few examples from the ones I mentioned below.

When I was at Games Day they had all the Forgeworld Lord Greater Daemons on display in the Warhammer Forge Displays, seeing the bloodthirster forced me into forking out for one whilst there.
Trouble is there are no rules for the warhammer versions.
I hope they will release Warhammer Imperial armour books.
They could call it Archane Icons (AI) or something to follow the FW WF naming .
Me and my friend are about to start an Itza Campaign (Arrival of Chaos Lizardmen vs Daemons)
And I think having the Giant Bloodthirster would look awesome. So i need rules!

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.
