Ya so I think there could be a controlled Tyranid army, risky but it would be worth it IMO.

If the only reference to a controlled Tyranid army is fanfiction from 4chan of all places, I wouldn't really consider it relevant.

qft. Also, they do NOT use warp transportation. They literally just float through space. This is basically impossible (as it would take millions of years to get even close to another system), but 40k is weird like that
No, they use the The Narvhal!

Yes, although that is a more recent addition to the background. At one time the hive fleets did indeed float in the void between galaxies, until someone in the know obviously realised that the the period of time involved would have been simply incomprehensible.

I think these are when the main fleet has been defeated and there arent many synapse creatures. Since they are separated from the hive mind, they are absorbed into the dominant fleet for bio mass, they arent really a fleet so they get brought into the ACTUAL fleet.
A theory could develope here, but in rare cases could Tyranid be separated from the hive mind and after a while start developing a much less powerful hive mind? This would explain why they would fight the larger much more powerful fleet and not instantly fall in line to a synapse creature.
Something to think about maybe? A potential IoM created hive fleet controlled by the god emperor or LOTS of psykers!!!!!
Well there's a few theories in the past that some of the titanic creatures in Fenris oceans like the kraken and the Catachans namesake devil and some of the fauna on other planets might be the ancestors of vanguard organisms from failed early unrecorded Tyranid fleets or something similar cut off from the hive mind. Nothing concrete but its been raised as a possibility.

No I really think he should. I would be a learning experience! Like walking through every dark ally in NYC, without a weapon.

Gogsnik wrote:Since there is no up or down in space they cannot 'fall', any object travelling through space can be said to be going up, down or sideways relative to the position of the observer.
Since Hive Ships move under their own power it still wouldn't be accurate to describe their movement as floating, suffice it to say, they travel through space.
But IIRC, "falling" is when an object is influenced by gravity and pulled toward it. Falling doesn't have to mean in a downward direction, just in the direction of the gravitational pull...
from http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Narvhal
Tyranids do not travel via Warp jumps, such as the Imperium does, and so instead rely on their Narvhal ships. Through the use of monofilament spines clustered along a Narvhal's bow which can interpret a wide range of sensory input and even a broad spectrum of gravimetric signals, a Narvhal can detect the presence of a planetary system at an incredible distance away. It can then somehow harness the system's gravity to create a corridor of compressed-space through which Tyranid vessels can travel towards the system at a swift rate. Whilst slower than proper warp travel, this method is infinitely more reliable.
I hope this backs up what i'm saying...
are we now talking about 4chan 'nids?

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest! |
