Non-synapse creatures have about as much soul as any other animal.

Only if you belive nids are independent entities, and not a single entity called they Hivemind.

Yes, I suppose you could say there is only one Tyranid soul.

Other Dreadnaughts should just go somewhere and be a toaster.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

No they don't only use souls, they are fed by sentinent or non-sentinent lifeforce energies released by deaths, not bysouls.
That is generally correct. The Dragon does not eat souls - to the point that there are demons lurking around his location in the warp, ready to snaffle the souls of those he eats. Presumably the C'tan do not gain any sustanance (or rather, pleasure, they still eat Stars, which one must assume make up their actual diet - it would be more correct to think of eating the life force of humans as smoking or other drug intake than eating sweets) from warp-souls. However...

It is also worth noting that the Nightbringer has the ability to either consume or destroy warp-souls. This is referenced vaguely in Nightbringer as him consuming 'soul morsels' and more specifically in the White Dwarf piece about his battle with Khaine, where it is mentioned that those who fought him 'lost everything, even their souls' - it would seem likely that the Nightbringer deliberately destroys warp-souls (beyond spite, there's a practical reason for this, you don't want to let them come back to fight you again). He certainly has considerable power over warp souls, somehow being able to disbarr the entire Eldar species from reincarnation, forever.

Certainly the Nightbringer can destroy a 'soul' if he wants to (which he always does). I'd be unsurprised if the other C'tan could do so too, but they're probably more lenient in that regard - not obsessed with death imagery, simply with having a good time - by that point they've had their fun with you, and that's all that matters

Perhaps he's sealing them from the warp? As that is the C'tan's master plan?

either way it must be intensely complex for the memories to be separated from the bio-mass. I just think the Tyranid are far more complicated than they get credit for. Although this is coming from a 'nid player

"Strike first, strike hard, no mercy."
"We are judged in life by the evil we destroy."
"I am going to drastically thin the enemies ranks."

None. and if any do it would only be the independent ones like Hive Tyrants.
im quite happy to change my mind if it turns out there is a termagant of Khorne.

What level of independence does the Swarmlord have I wonder? It was developed to out think the enemy and develope tactics FOR the Hivemind. "The Swarmlord is to a hive tyrant as a hive tyrant is to a termagaunt" that is quite impressive IMHO

Was this idea put up before?

Tyranids each have a shard of a soul, and that soul is the great Hive mind.

When they die the soul is returned to the hive and reused for another 'nid of the same species.

That way it comes back with some of the memories, to better adapt to battle along with the evolutions of the swarm.

yes, that is the most accurate way of putting it.
