Can they truly? Or would the nutrients acquired simply phase out from within the tyranids? EWWWW... Tanks could be consumed I would think, as the metals can be broken down into other elements which could fuel the nids. Whether or not they do is up to debate.

The necrons are metal, yet they are not. Its like the undead, they are not living, yet they are not truly dead.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

There's nothing that says they have to eat Wraithbone, after all there's plenty of biomass and regular material on a craftworld (how else do you sustain a large population of aesthetically sensitive biological organisms for millennia in space?).

Besides, what is to say Wraithbone even keeps any form of chemical composition the Tyranids are able to use once it has been digested?

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

Don't Tyranids eat everything that they can lay their jaws on? I don't think they're choosey. If something is edibile, it'll be eating, one way or another.

This is however, a good point.

I thought Tyranids ate almost everything. Leaving only inorganic matter behind. Are there any instances of Tyranids attacking a Craftworld and after being done with it, the Wraithbone is still standing?

The Doom of Malanti(spelling?) destroyed Wraith-bone constructs with its thoughts...

However, since Wraitbone is Semi-Organic, it may/may-not be able to be digested or partially digested.

York/London(for weekends) oh for the glory of the british rail industry

I don't really see why tyranids don't eat inorganic matter, as there are micro-organisms that eat inorganic matter, and lots of biological systems use metal complexes for processes.

I would think that 'nids avoid necrons due to the fact that micro-nids would have no effect on necrons/world has no bio-matter/necron tech works very well (in fluff) against flesh and bone, the two things 'nids are made of.

But they devour the water and other non-acidic fluids that are inorganic from planets, right?

Yes 'nids eat the very atmosphere of a planet, they leave the entire thing a barren rock for the imperium to find. Very impressive to breakdown gasses into living creatures IMO

I forgot about water. I thought the water burned up and evaporated into the atmosphere, where it is collected. I'm not sure about the rest.

And now it's all about organic or inorganic. What I'm more interested in is the wraithbone part, as stated before. Now, someone or another apparently has sources that indicate them leaving Eldar craftworlds behind, bereft of only life(And water, food supplies, etc.), but I may be wrong, I've been up all night playing Dawn of War Soulstorm, attempting to assail the Tau base to no avail.

So what I'm asking is that someone point to a source that indicates otherwise. This thought is haunting, I must have an unquestioned answer, or at least close to it.

Nids would kill everything inside either way, at the very least they would take the biomass of the fallen eldar
