Indeed. That is why I dont do hot places, that and I burn really badly really easily. I like chilly, foggy or rainy.

I wear a London Fog Coat in winter when it rains and is cold enough here (or I happen to be in Melbourne).

It hasn't been worn here in 4 years.

The same with my old bike jacket (worn shoulderblade area where I came off and slid a little).

Just not cold enough for it.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I'm pretty sure public flashers aren't as popular with the ladies as you suggest they are.

I wore a jacket very similar to this for over twenty years,it's been retired now in favor of a plain black one.
Don't recall it ever being to cold to wear it...but then again..I was in New Orleans.

I know this is a few pages late, but I just wanted to say I love the Misfits.

And OT, Id say in most cases, personally trench coats are a bit over done and too " Im a badass" But thats my opinion. If you like them, then wear one

@ KC.

Great taste my friend,The Misfits have held a spot in my top 10 for over 2 decades now.
I've managed to catch them live several times, but sadly never when Danzig was their front man...I was just a few years to late.

I too am a moderately big fan of Danzig. I think the guy tries a bit to hard to be HARSH!, if thats the right word Im looking for. But ya, some of my fav songs from them was when he fronted it.

I did see with Samhain and with his band Danzig, long story short ...he's a tool IRL,but...he doesn't wear trench coats.

Indeed, and he has a great voice as well...unfortunately,his dabbling with steroids, combined with his general dislike of people,has/had caused him to be less than cordial.

...Perhaps,had he been wearing a toasty warm trench coat,he'd have melted his icy heart and been less of a "rock star" (I'm trying desperately to stay OT).

...of course, his "attitude" has resulted in some people not taking to kindly to him as well..

Trenchcoats vary in size and look like all clothing. You need to pick and choose the right one for the right situation.

There are a lot of cheap black trenchies that goth kids tend to wear. They have a "wrinkle" look to them and sometimes shiny. These can look rather terrible. Best to wear these at night when clubbing or something.

I have a very expensive leather trench coat. Its double layered, matt finish and very smooth. The girls really like it and has a "professional" look to it. Still, I never wear it these days as I never go out.

The goth\retro style trenchcoats look great but only really for clubbing or hanging with your gothy type friends. Not something I would wear food shopping.

When trying to shop for one, bear in mind its use. Clubbing? Go nuts. Walking around the park? Well that depends on the quality and how it looks on you.

Currently collecting and painting Eldar from W40k.

As with most clothing, trench coats make a statement.

You do not want that statement to be "I'm a nerd and I don't understand fashion"

First, don't get cheap ones. If you are going to go for a trench coat, regardless of style (uptown buisness, cowboy duster, etc) be wiling to spend money on it. It will make a difference on how it sits on your body and how it looks.

Second, know what to accessorize with it. Don't buy a nice trench coat then wear it with jeans, t-shirt and sneakers. That...looks dumb. Clothing can make you look look BA or terrible.

I would carefuly note what others wear with them to see how they pull it off if you like the look.

I never wear mine without a suit.

I wear a grey trench coat when it's raining.

People who wear them when it's 90+ degrees outside a bit weird.

I wouldn't recommend leather or something shiny. A wool trenchcoat can look nice depending on the style.
