Sorry for the lengthy time for posting anything.
Truth is I have been preparing for a conventin in Gent, Belgium, called FACTS.
I will be there, and if you are around, come up, have a chat, look at my art and stuff. I got invited by the organizers (instead of having to buy a table like I thought I had to) along with names like Adi Gradov (Iron Man + Iron Man movies) and Clint Langley (You've seen his work if youve read Slaine, or Nemesis and other BL books he put his art on the front for..)
I'll be doing sketches and sell stuff like anyone else but just come say hi and I'll be happy to chat with you!
Oh and I also made a poster of the FACTS mascot, Faxxa, for this year, by request of the organizers.
More info on the way it looks (sort of) can be found here: http://www.facts.be/2011/f-a-c-t-s-2010-road-movie/ (though thats from last year and its going to be a little bigger bigger this year).

Updates of images are coming along, just busy with talking to printers atm. Looking at popping in some more updates newt week, after printers been arranged.
I'm working on the background for the terminator and spacemarine I put up earlier in this topic, and I begun the "counter image" showing what they are looking at aswell...

I love your painting; it's very smooth, which suits the not-so-realistic world of 40k. I also like the stranger elements, like the bell on the Chapter Master's back; it feels exactly right for the tone of 40k.

Those notes you wrote about Space Marine anatomy are a huge help for me; I like drawing marines, but I always felt uncomfortable with their profile in armor. So a huge thanks to you for posting it.

I rather like the blurr/not detailed edges around him in this pic.. Maybe you are just saving it in 50-25quality since its pixelated alittle.. But still it looks ok with it not detailed. Most pics you see on DA or such are always highly detailed. This kind of gives it a "i wish it was more detailed so i can see if he has medals etc", an "air of mystery" if you will..

Do you use a cintique or just a normal wacom? I dont use cintiques and iv always wondered how they fair compared to normal wacoms..
Do you use custom brushes? What size canvas do you work with normally?

Can you do some more creatures? You do paint humans and such so great id love to see you do a huge creature about to munch on someone!!!!

Amazing work though..
Added you on DA

Cheers guys,

Exiled, I paint them at a very hig resolution, but they will be finalized smaller then the preview I think, because there are five characters and a background, the size is that of a wraparound bookcover.

I currently use a Wacom Intuos4, but until recently I just used a Trust, it was good and I could have done this with that also, the tool isnt that important, the Intuos4 just ads a bit of comfort and a little more feeling to the strokes I never used a cintique and as far as I know there are so opposite feels on it that I wouldnt buy one until I tried one.
Some thinks its the best thing since the wheel and others claim it to be laggy and less accurate then it claims. I just dont know.

I use custom brushes, but 90% of the painting is done with a soft airbrush in Photoshop that is calledAirbrush Soft Sound 100, I paint mostly with opacity set to about 30% and build up the colour that way, but sometimes I just smack 100% opacity in there.
Canvas, I paint at 300dpi and usually at sizes around 5000x5000 pixels or somewhere in the range of 14x14inch to 20x20inch (30x30cm up to 50x50cm). Usually I paint in European A-sizes (thats papersize) and utilize either the A4 or A3 size for my canvas. They should be possible to find when you create a new document in photoshop.

I do that because I paint posters and such, but if I have work then the size can really vary from company to company and image to image.

Hope that helps.
A personal project of mine is to paint something with creatures soon, no worries...

I can only echo what's already been stated, that being your artwork is outstanding.

Do you plan to do any more fantasy oriented ones? I'd like to see your take on an ogre or ogre vs bret setup.

OMG.... Thats huge!!!
(no thats what she said jokes...because that is what she said!)

It didnt look like custom brushes but the airbrush surprised me.

Intuos4 is a nice tablet. I used the 3rd version at uni and currently just run a touch/bamboo. I was looking at the cintque ones but with 1500$ price tags, its definatly something that can wait.

I <3 your art. Cant wait to see more!!!

YEah, I used to think that 5000x5000 was huge also, but it really comes down to the resolution. I paint at 300 (or 600) pixels per inch and so in terms of printout it doesnt really become that huge. In terms of RAM it is huge though.

the soft airbrush is very usefull because it makes a very soft sploosh when used large, but if you use it as a detailbrush you cget a quite sharp line. Mainly because you cant see the blurriness on it when you view it at printsize.

cheers!

StudioColrouphobia, you should be working to Games workshop. Your Art is brilliant. It would be their loss not to have someone as talented as you.

Excellent work.

Actually, its not really that bad memorywise. Well, for me its not really that much more really. I work in RGB usually because that way I can use all the tricks in the book. And I have to calculate on the colours being slightly desaturated afterwards, but in general the difference isnt all that grand.

F.A.C.T.S. was amazing.
I sat next to Adi Granov, furthest out on one side of the table.
From left to right was:
Me, Adi Granov, Barry Kitson (SpiderMan UK, AD 2000 etc etc), in memoriam for Wim Oosterveer (Dutch comic artist that died in a motorcycle accident a couple of weeks before he was due to appear at FACTS), Romano Molenaar (Marvel and other stuff), Aleksi Briclot (Magic the Gathering, World of Warcraft), Nicholas Bournay (French comic artist) Keu Cha (Incredible Hulk, Hex), Aleksa Gajic (various things), Steve Dupre, LECTRR och ADAM (Belgian comicbook artists), Clint Langley (nuff said!).

These are Lunchsketches I made during the convention, they can be aqcuired since I still posess them. Just PM if your interested.

Cheers, I had a blast and it was good times. I didnt sell all the posters but thats okay, I can sell those through my webpage or next convention. The great time was talking to the other artists (Clint Langley is just a completely cool guy) and doing sketches for the crowd.

My favorite is the Khornate Sisters of Battle. I love pictures with conflicts and drama, it adds so much spice!

Especially their poses, its as if the heavy weapons don't weigh anything. And the lack of armor + the arrogance,
its like they have absolute faith in their new god.

This is the first run of a second illustration in the Ahadi series.

I have added a little digital white to this for clarity on the computerscreen, but this is just pass two of the pen-and-paper illustration I'm drawing.
Once I'm done with the pen and paper illustration It'll be available through my website (see sig) and I will paint it digitally as well.

But for now:
