Dry brushed the bases and moved the Knights over to their permanent home. The flash is washing out the bases pretty badly but the light in my room is terrible. The weather is pretty good at the moment so I should be able to Dullcote these tomorrow and then paint all the power weapons over the weekend. Probably going to edge the bases in black, to make them contrast better. Total time per Knight is about 20 minutes so far and that includes assembly.

Good stuff. The quickshade works wonders on the infantry, no question! But... what about those vehicles?

LOVE your Khador Paintings. simple but with some great Detail. was your Battlebox Plastice? i bought a Battlebox and its the pewter models. the significant differance comes from the taller top or the models. i like how you did some "Wear and tear" on the jacks the scheme is great but the bordering you did witht he metallics didn't match the Khador scheme but you really pulled it off Good.

BTW i prefer the Demo over Shocktroopers. Charging a Heavy with a Icebreaker *Attack means 4 damage dice. or charge a infantry type unit with back swing and use 5 models to potentially wipe out 10 of their models.

if you run the WGI Deathstar your not runnign them normally anyways. you'll be using the Bob and Weave order from the Officer meaning on 6" move but gain +2 Def. so you'll run the MoW and bring the WGI up behind them. your whole army still moves at a steady pace.

outside of those couple things i really enjoyed your Khador Paintings, i have a War Dog as well and i am still debating if i should attempt a two tone blend or not.

QUESTION! your models weren't nearly as shiny as some can get after a clear coat. i have never painted anything a day in my life but i have watched a few things getting painted and seen some techniques. i gotta say that my Casters and WGI will be the last things i paint lol. i am gonna start big with jacks and then goto MoW from there. now i already glued everything together, i would like to take some things apart and reattach them, what is a good product thats cheap that i could disolve the Professional Super Glue with?i mainly intend on removing my MoW arms for painting and maybe a couple other things.

BTW i hated puting my Devy together lol.

It's sunny outside today so I plan on getting the dreads started, not long now

The battle box that I got was Plastic. For super glue removal, you'll want to get some acetone based nail polish remover, this will destroy the paint as well. It might damage the plastic so don't use it on them

Dreadnaughts are ready to start painting. They aren't attatched to the bases yet, they will probably need pining in there. Auto canons are magnetised on for ease of transport and removing when they get destroyed

Heraldry for the tops of the Rhinos. Chickened out on the freehand (more like, got completely annoyed at how bad it looked) and used water transfers instead

The gloss on the colours is still drying, along with the *gasp* army painter on the metals. They are uber shiny at the moment

Heraldry looks good, decals do a good job on plain and straight surfaces like those rhino doors.

Freehand requires lots of practice to look good, you just have to start painting and to get better. I have made the decision to paint the banners of my skorne with free hand just to get comfortable with the idea of using free hand in painting additional detail to figs.

Not going to get a chance to do any work on the these this week, so have some photo's instead.

Rhino's with their heraldry doors on, if you zoom in you can see what I am talking about with the metallic effect off the army painter can I used. Not sure if it's a bad can or if this is a new formula. I picked this one up online, but one that I got from my FLGS is smooth...

Finished Grey Knights, with all their protective goodness to stop them chipping.

And one with a better contrasting, uniform back ground dropped in

They look fantastic! Tell me, do you thin the dip? Or just brush it on straight from the tin?

Also, I may have asked this somewhere in the thread already, but as I'm lazy... was it Strong Tone or Dark Tone you used?

Thanks.

I've used Dark Tone on these, I did a tester with the Strong Tone and it turned out far to brown, so the marines looked like a light copper colour, rather than their grey.

I use the dip straight from the tin, but don't use as much as the instructional videos show. It's more like a heavy wash, which I then remove the excess pooling

Bored of painting silver for the mean time so I cracked out some Khador.

Here's a terrible photo of a Widowmaker with a gammy eye

I'll get a better picture of the group when they are all painted up (and her eye is fixed)

Pffft, never mind Khador, we all want to see some Grey Knights progress!

My shoulder is pretty bad at the moment, doc has no idea what's up with it so all I can do is take pain killers. This means that since the widowmaker, I haven't been able to paint a single thing, it's really doing my head in

Hey, I really enjoyed looking through your thread. The WM is my fav (I really really want some). It sucks you can't paint at all. If I could paint at all for half the time as you so far, I'd be nothing but a blubbering soggy mass in the corner of a room. Hope you get better soon.

First bit of painting in over 6 weeks, Widowmaker number 2

Finished painting my 2 other Widowmakers, first gloss cote is on, going to base them this afternoon and apply a 2nd gloss cote to the base to prevent chips. UK weather at the moment is getting pretty cold so I don't think I'm going to be able to dull cote them for a while.

Glued together Supreme Kommandant Irusk while sorting out the Widowmaker bases, the model really qualifies for the epic moniker

Good looking muted paintjob on the widowmakers, I agree that the supreme kommendant is epic. He was among the last ones to get the base insert which improves on his looks a lot.

Risked dullcoteing the models in the cold today, thankfully it's worked fine. I love Dullcote, the difference between the shiny blobby models above and the ones below is massive. If you ever are looking for a matte varnish, look no further than Testors Dullcote.

Painted up the Butcher this weekend and built some new stuff. The new plastic Man-o-Wars are great, I've gone from having 5 of them, to 20 in a week. Just wish Privateer Press could hurry up and get everything in plastic

Will get a better quality pic once he's based and I've touched up the spots that I can see I've missed

Butcher is finished, fully protected and based. I've been putting it off for a while as I didn't want to ruin the model. He'll be back on the table chopping up dudes this week.

A very long time without posting (or painting) anything! Work and my Shoulder problem have meant I'd lost interested in the hobby side of Warmachine for while but I'm back on the wagon now.

Here's my Man-O-War Drakhun, displaying his prowess on the battlefield of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. He was finished a couple of weeks back but I needed a better spell of weather to dullcote him, which I did last weekend.

I've also been trying to catch up on my massive backlog of stuff that needed building but I never got round to.

In that lot there is:
Battle Mechanik Officer
Kel Balloch
Winter Guard Rifle Corps
Full Iron Fangs plus UA with custom banner (All of these have had their pikes replaced with Brass Rod)
pIrusk
Full Kayazy Assassin

Next on my list of things to paint is a Devestator

Nice looking Drakhun and certainly very capable of dominating the corn flakes. The red areas are really nice, but they could use a bit of depth, perhaps a a bit of purple added to the red in shadow areas. The base brings good contrast with the snow and gray gravel.

Looks like you have your work set out well. Which of the unpainted units are you planning on doing next?

I want to get my Butcher 50pt tier list finished, most of those guys will hang around unpainted for a bit, my butcher list is:

Butcher of Khardov (Painted)
Devestator (UnPainted)
Juggernaut (P)
Juggernaut (UP)
War Dog (P)

5 x Demo Corp (UP)
5 x Shocktrooper (P)
Man-O-War Drakhun (P)
Widowmakers (P)
Widowmaker Marksman (UP)
Yuri the Axe (UP)

Not super competative but it holds its own at the FLG. Next thing to be painted will be the Devestator

After way too long away from Warmachine, the bug has well and truly caught on again. Probably due to a Press Ganger being stationed in our local area now who is drumming up interest in the hobby quite a bit. There's a Journeyman league planned with slightly modified rules where you get points for what painted models you play with, rather than what you can paint. In getting ready for this, I've finally painted Beast 09, who has been built for nearly two and a half years. Crazy when I look back on it

A couple more items painted. The shinyness on the models is because of a cold snap in the UK meaning I can't dullcote the models till the weather warms up a bit
