I see Forge World have now released MK 2 and MK5 assault marines with heresy/pre-heresy jump packs, not sure if they are separate or joined to the torso though.

Yes they are gorgeous! I seem to remember they were separate at the open day but they are £32 for five marines with jump packs. Beautiful models though.

Would a pre-heresy Chaplain have the skull mask?

It's supposd to symbolise the Emperor's necrotic state... that's what all the skull imagery (I thought?) in the Imperium was being deferential towards?

I'd consider getting 1 set of each when I have the cash as honour wolf guard for my Wolf Lords (got 4 or 5 for dfferent situations or apocalypse)

I do like the new FW assault marines, and i'm thinking of getting a set of MKII's, but im still trying to figure out how to incorporate them with the Ravenguard bits i was planning on using for the vanguard vets.

Still got a few bits to be getting on with before i make a decision.

Henners - I never thought that the skull was to represnt the emperor on his throne, I just thought it was how they roll.

Managed to finish my second drop pod, went for green sides this time, mainly because the white on the first one was such a pain to do.

Did you check out chapterhouse studios for their pre heresy style jump packs? they're really good quality and a lot cheaper than fw ones, would suit your guys to a T! I have a pic of them in my Marines Exemplar blog if you wanted to see an actual one?

I also need to say these guys are coming along superbly, I really like the terminators and you seem to be cracking along at a great pace when it comes to painting! the drop pods are also very well done, staedy hand with those edge highlights i think! :-)

I'll be checking back regularly to see what else you've done! those vets you're working on are gonna look sweeeeet! :-)

Well... better late than never.

Made a random decision to paint a squad of Ork Nobz before I started these, and they took forever. Still, 9 guys in 7 days is do-able.

Wife was out partying with work, i've spent all night getting the devastator squad done, just the bases need doing. Good night had by all!







Hopefully finish these guys tomorrow, then do some more work on the Honour Guard.

The devastator squad got finished on friday, but i forgot to photograph them, and then I worked on the Honour Guard sat/sun.

Decided to do my Librarian & Land Speedermnext, along with something else... which turned out to be a Raven Guard version of Borther Corbolo. Armed with a 2 handed rending chainsword, he should be able to dish out some pain, as well as providing furious charge and feel no pain to the rest of the boys.

This is all turning out rather nice. Loving the conversions and all that you are doing with the paintjobs as well. Flesh tones on the Apothecary are most impressive.
