Yes the reloading piece is cut from a buttstock of the lasgun. I haven't gotten round to explaining much of anything on the blog clearly really and will be showing how I made my weapons over the next few days.

Awesome lasgun,
I'd go for a double barrel look on the shotgun though, don't really like the punp action look =S

@OP

I love your lasguns (and in the fluff lasguns come in all shapes and sizes) and your shotgun is a very imaginative way to do convert without using too much imagination.

My only criticism is why have you taken so much effort converting lasguns only for your men to be unmodified Cadians? If they get their armour from Cadia, why not their weapons? :p

Thanks for the advice guys!

Anyway, since this thread's been revamped, I thought I'd post some new pics of my Guardsmen. I've decided not to bother with shotguns... I'll just model my vets with "carbines", cut down versions of the standard lasgun, meaning that I'll be able to count them as either.

Really need some advice on a potential paint scheme too... I was thinking maybe black fatigues and grey armour, with white camouflage to break it up and reduce the "dull" factor.

A semi-modeled infantry squad:

I removed the helmet aquilas and green-stuffed tactical rails instead, as I might add flip-down goggles or gear later.

As for the lasguns, I flattened the tops, moved the scopes, cut out the superior rails and removed any bayonets.

I also added a few little touches to represent their affinity for desert fighting, such as this guy's shawl:

Here are some Molle backpacks I ordered from The Assault Group... I can't recommend them enough.

Now the Las-SMG v2.0, for all my Sergeants (counts as pistol and CCW):

And now, for the hell of it, a true-scale Marine I made with spare bitz I had laying around.

Spoiler:

A group shot :

An SMG as a CCW is quite imaginative!

Thanks mate! ^_^

I don't want them carrying swords into battle, so I figured it'd suit the role. Just like Sergeants in WW2 with Thompsons, Owens, etc.
