It looks like the Guardsman would find it easier to use but the gun doesn't look as nice before it looked like the German made G36 I think that is the name correct me if I'm wrong but now it looks more like a reflex sight in a way.

Edit. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. seems to be influencing me changed GP37 to G36 made by Hechler & Koch.

That looks pretty cool as well. One thing that occurs is how the scope is fixed to the rifle. In the original version it looked abit more integral. In the new position it looks like it could to with some kind of attachment to hold it securely to the top rail (like CaptainShrike's example above). Just a little blob of GS smoothed out to be angular would do the job.

Love those lasguns, very reminiscient of the G36k. Vik interesting shotguns. I personally am thinking to make mine like those used by the Krieg Engineers mixed with the Armsel Striker.

I had never thought about using the barrel for a scope.

On my custom lasguns, I removed the lower barrel - it just makes the shortness look more compact and neat imho.

i also experimented with secend edition boler mags...i just thought hte drum mag looks more shotgun...with the boltermag the lasgun then looks rather autogun like...

if you do these shorter versions of lasguns are they only for looks or will they have special rules? after all they could be drawn much quicker...

Vik if you haven't already googled the references the G36K is a submachine gun with sight made by hechler and koch (German gum company IIRC) and the armsel protecta is a drum barrelled that looks very much like yours or the Imperial grenade launcher just a different barrel.

the G36k i know quite good...but i will look at the armsel protecta ...

Yeah, I see what you mean... I've never used GS before though, so I don't know how to apply or sculpt it. Besides, it would only add to the workload. :/

Nah... just an aesthetic thing.

I will be doing las-SMG's though later down the track, for my Vets. I'll use the SMG's as either lasguns or shotguns, depending on what I want at the time.

oooh Vik pics of an AA-12 I see, lovely shotgun 20 or 32 shell drum or an 8 shell stick magazine can be loaded with frag rounds so could be used effectively as a fully automatic grenade launcher albeit with less of an explosion than a proper launcher.

i am refering to your actual scope setup, looks very good that way but as said by others i would do something with the fitting to the gun...i am also considering to use this idea from time to time... nice low cost scope^^

Armsel Striker is something i would choose for close combat...very nice thing to have^^ but i bet seeing this screw at the drummag it is a bugger to reload...nothing you do in a hurry...

the AA-12 is something that took me by storm when seeing that guy...forgott the name^^ in the movie... the sound of that raging killerweapon was making my hair stand up... so i had then this inspiration...

digging that modified las, would do well for marking out vets or hellguns. dont like that shot though, you would be better off combining bolter and lasgun, or lasgun and grenade launcher if you have enough to spare

Yeah the Striker would be hell to reload in combat as you generally cant remove the magazine and so have to load the cartridges individually through a small hole at the top of the mag. It's cool you get your inspiration from movies mine comes from Fallout 3 and cats as both made me decide to make a post apocalyptic themed (Fallout 3) black,brown and yellow-y bone coloured guard (cat) but to each his own. (I'm not going to lie Dakka helps as well )

too bad i have yet to test F3...though i played the other PC games of that line... an loved them...

so will you post some pics of your army?
a stalker kind of army is very tempting^^

or did you go for a brotherhood of steel look or rather the raiders?

well actually we live in the post modern world, anything has been done before and so onything goes... wild mixtures everywhere and i draw my inspiration fromall kinds of sources ... every little thing helps^^

Ah the good old Fallout games picked them up for a euro each last year in Ireland, and talking about stalker I actually made some figures based on the game a while a go. The guard I have been working on arent actually based on factions from the Fallout 3 just their background and the desert theme but I have also made a Brotherhood of steel figure as well so I guess I have a lot to upload; all I need is to find a light box in my local hardware shop.

Vik I notice in your first pic that the expendables dude has a SAIGA auto shotgun like the one from the Videogame Bad company 2. Now That is a cool looking Shotgun.

Thoughts? Is the shotgun an improvement? I might add a drum or sickle magazine later if needed.

I like it! I would maybe add a sight to it, nothing crazy, just a little notch at the tip of the barrel. Other than that I am liking what I see.

Shotgun looks good but I'm not to keen on the SMG, it would probably look better without the stock.

yeah very good mixtures of cutup pieces...the ideas are very clever... i see you used the muzzle as a stock? cool!
but i think at least a tiny bit of barrel should be visible still. and even if this butstock is cool as heck i would second here santa as without you better get that smg look working...

maybe you could double the mag now? that would give this mac10 or uzi and possibly the HK Mp5 look, or rather UMP...for that matter^^

the shotgun is a shaved beyond recognition flamer? this is a cool pumpgun look, would definatly work without a mag.

Shotgun looks very good.

Had a bit of an epiphany; if you wanted to do a spas-12 type shotgun i would reccomend starting with a lasgun. Take the hand from the grenade launcher/flamer and apend it to the spporting arm and add the grenade launcher drum somewhere in the middle. If you need whole grenade launchers, I could get you some. Theyre not GW, but Alien Suns, but theyre still good looking

coreect me if i am wrong but the spas has no drum mag, and also if one would want one then they could just grab 5 of them form maxmini... they have the spas right there...

the supporting arm from a flamer/launcher is to my opinion to harsh to use here... it is fully outstreched and by this it would mean definatly a strain if not worse for the arm when the shotgun shoots...better use a bended arm...

The Saiga would be a fairly easy shotgun to make using the lasgun as a base, even with a drum magazine the Saiga being based on the design of the AK-47 assault rifle, also Santaman the G36 is an assault rifle. All in all, this thread is most helpful in giving me ideas for the look of my lasguns and shotguns.

That looks more like a melta than a shotgun.

naw, you take the hand from the flamer/grenade, and apend it to the bent arm. It gives you the vertical grip without having to do resculpting, and since only so many may have specialist weapons, you are likely to have spares kicking around.

Also; brainfart. I did not mean spas, I meant striker. I have NO idea how i managed that mistake. Must not have had my morning coffee yet.

Lasgun = I love quick simple conversions like this
Shotgun = it did nothing for me

A vet i made a while ago, pretty simillar.

If you check out my modelling blog on here I have some ref pics of how I made my lasrifles and my shotguns.

Good start on your guard though.
