Hi, great work so far. Can i ask a quick question about your vulkan counts-as? Is that just a standard GK force halberd he's armed with. How did you achieve the pose?

It is indeed just a standard GK force halberd, as for the pose I just messed around with different arms until I found something I liked. Unfortunately I can't say much more than that, it is quite likely that I've used a pair of non matching GK arms. For the rest of the pose, the torso is twisted slightly to the right (when compared to the legs) with the head facing left.

Here's a part list if you're interested:

GK Justicar legs
standard marine rear torso
Black Templar mk4 torso with BT heraldry removed
GK right arm
GK left arm, storm bolter converted to flamer using incinerator parts
2 studded shoulder pads
GK teleport backpack light modified
mk6 marine helmet
marine frag grenades

Not much to it really, just a bog standard kit bash with a few light modifications.

Cheers for that. Trying to build a scythe for my chapter master and loved the pose. May have to study some bitz sites for the appropriate arms. Think i have a set already on the way so hopefully i've struck lucky

Right got another update on what I've been painting. Firstly I have finally finished that squad of sniper scouts:

Here's the whole squad:

Now finishing that squad give me a bit of a problem as I can't decide what to paint next, it certainly won't be any more scouts as I can't face painting any more of them just yet. However I've still got the choice of a Ven Dread, Tac Squad or Assault Squad. I guess I could just work on whichever squad is nearest to completion which would be the Tac Squad.

Anyway I've also go a photo of the army as it currently stands, I took the photo of the army now because I've hit the milestone of actually having a legal army of White Minotaurs painted; 2 HQ, 2 troops, 1 elite, 1 heavy support.

As ever all comments are appreciated.

I'd go with the assault marines personally.

Looking good man the scouts are really crisp

If you need an opponent let me know, can bring horde or mech your choice, whatever you want to test them against (as long as its guard )

To be perfectly honest I don't particularly want to use the army as it currently stands, it doesn't really work. However if you give me some time to paint up the ven dread to replace the captain then I would have a near 1000pt (about 990 actually) army that I think would work quite nicely.

Hell who cares if an army works, i'm trying to write a list using as many as my converted models as I can. It won't work but it'll be fun.

True but I don't like my independant characters walking about (or in this case flying) on their own, they die to quickly.

BTW I've been working on the second tactical squad, nearly got them ready to have their arms glued on. Of course I still have to build and paint said arms.

Long overdue update time!

Firstly sorry about not posting recently, I've not really been doing much painting recently been suffering a bit of painting fatique. Anyway the White Minotaur army is progressing nicely I've got a few marines from the second tac squad fully painted but I won't post photos until I've done the whole squad (could be a while the free hand is a pain). I've also made a start on the Venerable Dread and Landspeeder Storm, again photos when they're finished.

I've also recently made a start on a new fantasy army, Lizards. Started them because I got sick of Dark Elves that don't rank up and Empire who fall apart every time I use them. So with that in mind here's a couple of photos of my colour scheme for the basic Saurus in the army, not really a fan of the obnoxiously bright colour scheme that GW use so instead I went for something a little grubbier. Still trying to think of a decent basing scheme though.

As ever all comments are appreciated.

Seems that I've been neglecting this thread again.

I have actually managed to paint quite a lot of stuff (for me) since my last post but I've not got round to posting it until now.

First is the second Tactical Squad:

Next (and last) is a Land Speeder Storm, painting this was quite a challenge for me as I did for once try to paint all of the little details (sadly not able to photograph them):

So 5 months into this project I have still got a 10 man Assault Squad, 5 man Scout Squad and a Venerable Dreadnought left to paint. So that's probably another 3 months to go then.

I'm currently working on the scout squad and might have a model or two finished over the weekend, no promises though.

Yep still neglecting this thread is seems I think it might be a good idea if I start posting more work in progress models rather than just finished ones.

With that in mind here's a couple of recent wips, first a British Sherman Firefly, pretty much all that I've got left to do is dirtying it up.

I was accurate as I could be on the Sherman but getting British tank markings right at 15mm scale is tricky.

And here's ones of the two Viktorias from Malifaux, all I really need to do with her is a few corrections and basing:

Went with a rather different colour scheme to the one used by Wyrd Miniatures but I think it works well.

Got some more pics of the Sherman Firefly, I've been dirtying it up a bit. Not sure if I'll do any more as at 15mm scale it would be very easy to get rid of what little detail there is with any more weathering.

Might have some more Malifaux and Flames of War stuff later this week, or maybe some Firestorm Amada if I can be bothered to take a complete fleet photo.

Ok here's another Malifaux WIP, Taelor:

Also a quick and slightly out of focus shot of the whole crew (ie the Viktorias boxset) at this very early stage of painting:

As ever all comments are welcome (please? I'm getting bored of repeatedly replying to myself. )

No idea what I'll be posting next it could be Space Marines, Malifaux, Flames of War, Firestorm Amada, Warmachine (I really need to paint my Menoth army) or even 28mm WW2.
