Legalization doesn't mean it must be nationalized. Most of the beer in the liquor isn't made by the federal government for example. Why do insist on saying canuckistan all the time?

Yes, but we would be wasting even more money, o what... with the enforcing the law and patrolling the streets to stop people from driving under the influence of the smoke, and to enforce the legal age limit.......
We'd be wasting even more money on piety crap instead of the important things.
I don't think this is so good.....
Pretty much the same things we already do for alcohol. Develop proper technology to detect levels of the chemicals involved in marijuana, and it can become as routine as alcohol levels checks. And having it only legal to licensed sellers means we can regulate those sellers, enforcing an age limit to ensure underaged people don't smoke.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Does not work. Trust me. You have an older friend. Done. Heres 5 bucks, I'll wait around the corner.
Coffeeshops here are legally required to have a security guard outside, checking ID's and watching out for young folk doing shady business. But still, you can't have eyes everywhere.

And how exactly is that worse than a black market? It increases the burden for them to get it, while putting the money into the hands of the government and legitimate businesses, rather than petty criminals and smugglers.

Exactly. Marijuana is the biggest business in BC and all of the money goes into the black market.
