exactly, because the 160% inflation experienced by the UK over the last 25 years is comparable to GWs 600% price rises over the same period...

Prices rise - the difference is between a company that tries hard to keep those rises as low and infrequent as possible and one that puts them up regularly - and most recently up to 30% on some products.

But Mantics are holding the prices on plastic models.
Therefore they are taking the hit on rising costs.

Maybe we should group together and praise those companies who don't rise prices arbitrarily.

Am sure at some point the prices for plastic models will rise too due to inflationary pressures. The point is some companies do not take their customer base for granted.

Cannot help but wonder why the myth of a Niche Market plays apart in this and GW take advantage of such thinking.

[end sarcasm]

Oh, wait, probably won't hear it because if it's not Games Workshop, it isn't cry-worthy. Remember people, these are businesses that are trying to make money. If their overhead costs go up, the prices of their products go up. Simple economics...

Damn! ninja-ed by Daedalus!

Sick of this disingenuous bull#$%^. Mantic hasn'r done an annual price increase for the last decade, nor did it deliver an inferior quality product (so far as we know) for more money, nor are they screwing anyone that lives outside of designated regions. But you knew that, you apologists will just use any excuse to bust on people who don't want to play ball with a bad company.

Price change as of 28th May, 2011:
Codex Tau: 22.00 $ -> 24.75 $
Tau Battleforce 90.00 $ -> 110.00 $
Tau Crisis Suit: 22.25 $ -> 26.75 $
Tau Hammerhead 44.50 $ -> 49.50 $
Tau Skyray 44.50 $ -> 49.50 $

To which I was referring with "now". Every two year is bad enough, but it is not "several times a year", which popular mythology holds. Only two Finecast for Tau are one Ethereal (which has same price as metal counterpart) and Sniper Drone Team, which got somewhat more expensive (why did they release that in Finecast? It's a very plain kit and was already overpriced).

Did the US price of the Codex really increase? Because the Euro price was actually lowered to 20 Euros. Weird.

We've leapt from "Annual" to "several times a year".

If GW didn't pee around with their customers, handled PR like adults and didn't give potential cause for ill feelings and perceptions of being screwed over, the "popular mythology" would not arise

However, I don't recall seeing anyone say that there are several price rises per annum, Backfire.

Actually we had one year in Germany with 3 price hikes, 2008 IIRC.
