Oh, I have love for the V6...my friend had a 2006 Toyota X-Runner for a long time, and it was straight sexy...my only beef if the V6 is the crappy gas mileage...Hell, my S-10 gets 20 mpg on a good day - a V8 1500 Silverado gets 18...You might as well buy the bigger truck! I say either a turbo'd 4 cylinder or a supercharged V8 EDIT: Spelling

Ive been involved in cars since I was 5 or 6 helping my bro out with paint/pannel and engine work and most of my jobs have been auto related. Atm I own a mitsi lancer 04 es, thats the family bus but my project is a 91 nissan silvia.
it was running the ca18de but I converted to turbo (basicly stock turbo stuff) with an sr20 turbo running 12psi, it was faster than a freshly rebuilt cadet lol, I basicly did it to see how long till it blew, mind you id had 200k + on the clock lol he did a head gasket like a month after the conversion. Now just waiting to drop an sr20 in there and go nuts on suspention.

Close, but I prefer the '70.
I've always wanted to build one with a modernized powertrain and all the accouterments.
Sort of like the Chicayne.

Dickandit, I haven't read in depth of everybodys posts but from a ford guy for over 20 yrs i can tell you swapping in a v8 in a mustang is not as easy as everyone might say & the 5spd conversion requires ALOT more fabrication. So if you don't have a shop w/welding capabilities your going to spend alot more $$$. You can just drop in a 4spd trans & all you might have to do is get your driveshaft shortend if memory serves correct. Also there is a speed shop online that deals w/just parts for the old ford & chevy 6 cyl.

I dunno, that looks more like a saloon than a proper ford (the classics are the best!)

Well it turns out Spectre makes a cold air intake for cars with a carburetor! It's really cool. They have a special air cleaner with a 4" inlet for a cold air intake system. Unfortunately the carburetor in my car is a Carter YF and the original was an Autolite 1100. The carter is a little taller than the Autolite and it causes problems with aftermarket air cleaners. The clearance between the carb and the hood is about 3 inches, and since I have to buy a carb adapter for the air cleaner it adds another 1". The air cleaner I bought from Spectre (very nice btw) was too big. So I have to exchange for a carb hat which is just a simple pipe that attaches to the carb to mount cold air intake systems.
