Wow so many great comments. Cheers guys.

I'm kinda sad that they aren't mine, but then i must focus on my Mechanicus army. There will be lots of opportunities there for interesting weathering etc.

With me it's always the next project. So many ideas, so little time. I just wish more of my commissions were this interesting. It's hard to get this sort of work down here in NZ.

Conduct While Gaming
While rolling a die, do not say, “Anything but a 1!” unless you wish the die to come up as 1. Any other such attempts to anger the “Dice Gods” will result in the existential equivalent of continuously flipping a coin and having it come up heads every time (for reference, see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). Your dice will be cursed to roll ones for everything other than morale checks, which will come up sixes.

ORK PLAYERS HAVE A LIMIT OF 1 SCREAMS OF WAAAAAAGH PER HOUR. violators will be forced to play tau.

Players with chimeras and las weapons shall pronounce chimera ki-mere-uh, not chim-ere-uh. Violators will be forced to play nothing but world eaters. Non-40k personnel must purchase and build a chimera.

Remember guys, if you want me to paint your tanks I'm open to commissions. Probably a bit prohibative if you aren't in NZ or Aussie because of postage, but the option is there.

I'd love for someone to commission me to do a golden demon job on just one tank. Super detailing, chipping, weathering etc. That's what I call a fun job.

Even better would be a diorama. They are the most fun a modelmaker can have.

First off amazing work on that army. Really is first class.

On the colours changing part that is simply down to the temp outside as opposed to the temp of the daylight bulb which is constant.

This is inspring work. I've always loved the DKoK models and you've really crafted a beautiful army that brings them to life.

No words could express just how awesome these DKoK look...
So I'll use emoticons instead.

You, sir, have single-handedly given me the simultaneous urge to stop painting altogether and given me inspiration for my future Imperial Guard army. I've always wanted to do a winterized scheme that looked as if the new camo was just recently issued out, and maybe not have enough of it to go around (like the German army during the first invasion of Russia), and you have captured that image perfectly.
Kudos to you, and best of luck with your mechanicus army!

I really, really like the weathering on the tanks, I might try it out myself sometime. The whole look is as impressive as it is in the IA books. I got the Siege of Vraks trillogy, and I might just get a few DKoK units to field with my regular IG at some point.

Thanks again guys. To have inspired others is great. So many on the net have inspired me so it's good to give back.

I was apprehensive in getting an airbrush but it has been a great learning experience. It takes a while to get used to but it's an amazing tool. I highly recommend everyone to look into it, even just to do basecoating with.

I've always wanted to be able to paint well enough to win a golden demon. Hopefully one day I can, but i've found it quite satisfying to be able to paint armies in a unifying and interesting scheme. They aren't perfect as I didn't spend hours on each model but as an army they look good.

Well, I'd much rather play against an insanely-painted army than have an opponent show off his one good centrepiece (although of course it would be appreciated!)

I think a brown would of mixed well with the models well. I'm sorry for nit picking just wondering if there was a reason. I really am impressed by your work.

I rather like the black rims. It looks classier and cleaner in my opinion then some of the sloppy colored rims.

The customer wanted them to match his other army which I did : http://ferrus-workshops.blogspot.com/2010/03/very-busy-plus-new-projects-afoot.html

I've nearly always done black bases. I agree that it looks cleaner. It's just a matter of personal taste really; I think there are good reasons for doing other colours though.

More then anything, I'm impressed by the detailed musculature you did on the horses. Best paint job on a miniature horse I've ever seen.

Loved the artillery as well, all of it was excellent.
