They are funny to play against.

for example:
They will be thinking they are all cool running around with their big guns and such. What happens?
I run around and massacre them all with the weakest gun in the game! It tends to get the lobby to hate me and I have the entire group hunting me down

I find the biggest pricks online are the ones who make generalizations about large group of anonymous gamers.

As a simple Warcraft 3 custom map, it has enjoyed more success than most fully developed games without the engine restrictions of Warcraft 3.

Out of all 3 of those games, Dota is the best of the 3, and if you think Dota is bad, I don't think you will like the others unless you want to play the simplified, dumbed down version that is LoL.

Being simpler doesn't make it worse I felt Dota had way too high of a learning curve and some of the changes in LoL really work well imo.

Its not really a matter of opinion, its fact. LoL isn't marketed to the competitive crowd, and it isn't balanced around them either. Its a game made for casual players that just want to sit down and have some fun for an hour, further emphasized by the F2P model they have going.

Summoner Spells, and, to a lesser extent, masteries and runes, unbalance the game to a huge extent. The fact you can have a 3 second disable on someone at any time (Exhaust) or immediately remove any of your positioning mistakes (Flash) are the reason why LoL and Dota are completely different games.

They both look the same, but are vastly different. Dota is balanced around the high-end players, its not simplified at all, and does have a higher learning curve that you have to play to get over. What you get in the end, however, is a very balanced, stable game. Icefrog (the developer of Dota) does not listen to every tom, dick, and joe on the forums crying about a FOTM OP like Riot does, he has a group of beta testers that test everything for him and give him feedback on what needs tweaking.

LoL is obviously going to attract the people who have never seen Dota before because its easier to understand, get into, and its F2P.

To top it off, the developers of LoL balance around two philosophies - "anti-fun" and "burden of knowledge", which basically translates into they don't want to make anything that makes people mad, or expect the player to do any work to understand the game. They want the game to be as simple and dumb-downed as possible so everyone will pay and buy their Riot Points because the IP gain is dead-slow, and every new hero is always 975/6300.

I'm going off on a tangent, but I think you get my point.

Not the same thing, at all.

With all due respect, you really need to pay attention to the tournament gameplay in LoL. Riot bases nearly all of their balancing around the tournaments that they hold. Runes and masteries are in the game so that people can customize champions around how they want to play that champion. However, your ability to succeed in LoL boils down to experience in playing different champions and developing team based strategies. The game has alot to do with your ability to react to a situation intelligently, which seems oddly similar to Dota.

Honestly, your post tells me that you played LoL a few times and had a bad experience or two, as you seem to have next to zero knowledge about the gameplay at all.

Back to the OT; I do not think you can generalize this sort of thing. Every game is going to have bad players, but the majority of them are going to be fine people.
