Awesome, that's what I was hoping for. I've always wondered what happened to the Forerunners and HATED that they never elaborated on it. I'll order that as well...Thanks!

This is very true, same with Glasslands. Lots happening, but not a ton of fighting. Of course, books that are completely about fighting are pretty meh to me.

Crytptum I definitely enjoyed. I'd say it's a must for fans of the fiction. By the end, I was physically covering the parts I hadn't read yet in order to prevent any accidental reading ahead

I should mention that you can read the first two chapters of Glasslands online, for those of us without the book yet:

They are milking out the series, I beat there will be a Halo 5 and perhaps a Halo 6.

Considering 4 is the start of a new trilogy, continuing after the events of 3, you're probably correct!

Its something all the fans want after the abortion that is Reach, so I'm not sure about the milking claims, but whatever.

That's pretty easy to say since they have already said they are doing a second 'arc' which AFAIK has 3 games in it...
As for milking... they sort of are...

As long as devs keep making my favorite games new and fun, they can milk anything as long as they like.

They're not really milking it if its still fun. Milking it is making the same game over and over and selling it over and over. Microsoft however could never hope to beat Nintendo in that department. How many times has Ocarina of Time been rereleased now

Nintendo is indeed the master of milk

Hey anyone who is a fan of Objective BTB in Halo, let me know so I can add you. That is pretty much all I play. And by objective BTB, I mean big team battle, and I generally vote for objectives.

Hang 'em High anniversary gameplay

I've seen them in a few of the campaign trailers, but nothing up close. I imagine they look pretty similar to the Halo 3 incarnations. They certainly are all still there, hah.

Also I figured this was the Halo: General for a while now after CEA the Halo 4 hype train will surely start.

Halo CEA is out.

Retreading an epic campaign (that is quite damn difficult) and the new maps for multiplayer are totally awesome.

Sweet montage of some action on the new maps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2pnaIlAWb8

I'm still pissed about not having the original multiplayer.

Won't even be bothering with MP on this apart from co-op.

Reach has managed to turn a bunch of people off of multiplayer, but the new settings they've put into these playlists are a step towards a better experience.

Original multiplayer never had any netcode, that is why they didn't want to include it. They did bring back the 3sk pistol of doom in Anniversary playlists though.

Yeah, but the point is, Halo CE still played the best IMO. They can add all the shenanigens they want, I still prefer it, as for no net code, I used to play it online with those "lan" networks out there

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just finished reading Glasslands yesterday, and this opens up A LOT of stuff for halo 4.

Huge ass spoilers, but interesting info for halo fans who aren't planning to read.
Spoiler:
The whole Onyx thing gets solved, humans get their hands untouched forerunner tech and engineers, infinity project is started (a ship containing all that technology, including slipspace drives that are more precise then covvy tech). Spartan 4 project is also up and running, Halsey got busted and is now truly ONI's bitch. Spartan II's are discovering how they were created. One of the Spartan II project wash outs is about to become the boss of ONI (which practice makes her the boss of earth).

Colonial wars may make a return too, some are allying with ex-covenant species.

Philips may just be my new favourite sci-fi character ever. Trolling elites left and right whilst being a spy on Sangheilos, and becoming chums with ONI's top AI, who is also a boss at trolling.

We also have another forerunner saga book coming in january. Yey!

Nice summary. I am definitely excited for "glasslands 2" - especially regarding Phillips on Sanghelios, and
Spoiler:
Kilo-5 versus Naomi's father. The Infinity and Spartan IV/Mk7 MJOLNIR is also very intriguing!

Makes me wonder about where they might take Halo 4. I sincerely hope that the Chief manages to get back to humanity by the end of the reclaimer trilogy - although thinking about the possible state of the universe by that point gives me chills. With the amount of advancement they've achieved by 2553, who knows where they'll end up?

Aye, the clear timeline advancement is making me happy though, unlike some other franchise, hurr-durr.

Spoiler:
As for Philips, I just hope explosions at the end didn't kill him or 'Telcem(SP?).

Also, Black Box is the coolest AI ever.

Prone To Drift was also cute... why are engineers cute?

BB is awesome. I really enjoyed it when he got inside of
Spoiler:
Naomi's head
, was a very interesting bit.

Engineers are nice aliens who just love to tinker and fix with things, they're like a floating-alien version of gnomes.

Apparently there is some crazy easter-egg on the new Halo waypoint, where you have to use the symbols from the new terminals to unlock some hidden area with all kinds of content.

Can't wait for H4, and the new Forerunner book next year.
