Because it was a terrible, terrible rule, on par with the horrid Tankbusta special rule, and whoever wrote it should be on the receiving end of Matt Ward fluff.

Its nice to see that oldschool style finally gets some love. Kinda hypocritic of me though, since I really dislike the contemptor.

Proteus though... That's how a Land Raider should (and did) look like. I'm very tempted to save money for that, and that's very rare for me when it comes to forgeworld.

Infernal Device is sort of giving back what was taken from chaos with the 4th ed codex. Chaos land raiders had fire control, which was basically potms.

I'll miss the assault ramps, but scouting ahead with a squad inside with an icon, and a re rollable reserve roll sounds good to me, as well as being able to take a multimelta, Chaos has only 1 LR variant and its fairly boring.

anyone know if the protues will be coming with nay of the other weapons options? i'd quite like a more standard load out.

I guess it depends on how well it sells.

Any ideas when the pre heresy Rhino kit will go on general release? Would quite like to pick some up with a proteus before Christmas.

If you look at the normal Dreads, even FW's Dark Angel one--they have very little detail on the engine compartment. The only decoration on them are the Adeptus Mechanicus symbol.

Maybe it's the case that all the ornamentation is on the front because everyone knows that it's Venerable Brother Johnson that's way ahead of them getting all up in the enemy's grill...

Also, they've been at IPMS for many, many years. They also go to Salute, and they've started going to AdeptiCon too (ie, they went this year and apparently want to go back again)...
