I applied. I got fairly far into the process last time they had one of these (I had to write a Lord of the Rings/War of the Ring scenario for them, and this proved my undoing...I've never played either) and I live about 40 minutes away from Warhammer World, so...

I've openly admitted I'm not up to snuff with LoTR in my cover letter. It's a matter of personal preference.

But then I've pointed out that I can convert things over from one system to another and to be honest? I seem to regularly get far whenever I apply.

Well best of luck all applicants! I reckon i've got enough experience under me belt.. played all their main games and inquisitor and done plenty of creative writing and the likes.

Can't blame them, but it's a little sad. I'd have liked to have seen one of those key points being about designing the world's best game systems, rather than reinforcing their financial goals and legal defensiveness.

From what I've heard and read from current and past employees, "joyless" is an apropos term for any GW job short of those at the tippy top.

I would say it's mostly their fault. If nothing else, they wrote the fluff.

No they don't. They say they do, with some mythical internal team and a few external playtesters, but given the horrible internal balance of most books and the completely assinine battle reports and lists in White Dwarf, I would say if they do playtest their rules, the playtesters are far removed from reality.
