Oregano

Helion (not Telion! Helion was a Scout trained by the Raven Guard, hence the black armour as a nod of respect, which all scouts will wear) is pretty much as seen in the above picture.

One thing I do want to do though is add an urban camo pattern to this cloak. Just need to figure out the best way to approach said task

Ha - the first word on page 3 is oregano. Lol

Here's Tobias, I want to tidy up the edges a bit though without changing the overall colour scheme (i know its minimalist though that's what I'm going for)

Thanks! (hoping that's not sarcasm )

I need to tidy up the edges a lot though, make them thinner and steadier.

I'm sorry for the lack of project updates - I've been real busy lately and have had sod all time to myself. I do have 2 more conversions on the go that I'm really excited about though, the first being the Chaplain posted earlier - he now has an actual crozius; had to slay a pretty mangled biker chaplain for it mind, and boy did he put up a fight, the grizzly old bastard! - along with a biker Captain, combining the Commander kit and... well, a bike. I get to build on my gs skills again as he's going on with cloak and all, which needs re-positioning etc, and I'll have him magnetised so I can swap his weapon load outs around. Initially though I think I'll run him with a lightning claw.

Other than that, I managed to get my compressor out for the first time the other day, plugged it in, all good to go and base coat EVERYTHING I have, then the neighbours called round So yeah, there's been a lot of distractions lately and it'll be a few weeks before I start to see any day light, but by god when I do...!

Seriously man, it was nuts! I'm never taking a hobby knife to a metal model ever again! From here on in, buzz saw all the way

I'm gonna try and fit some in tonight (may get diverted to converting this Biker Captain though) and will upload pics of any progress made.

Other than that, I ordered a load of different heads for Chaplain Yatty to try out (who'd have thought I had to turn to Khorne for the right head gear ) and some of the Elysian respirator helmets and grav chutes for my sniper marines. Finally

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Yep, got diverted lol

Yatty is now pinned (note, don't use GW clippers on the missus' hair grips, the hair grips WILL win, nice dent in the tip of my clippers now!) and just waiting on his head and an awesome paint job (so I'll send him overto you Nerdy )

Biker captain is on his way too, bike built, body mostly there, just need some magnets so I can swap out his left arm as advised in another thread, so I can choose between ccw's. This guy took more time than I anticipated, as I wanted to keep the cloak from the commander sprue, though had to cut it off the model, along with the back rest of the bike, then glue and liquid green stuff the cloak back in to position. Fun times

Just waiting on this bitz delivery for heads and I'll have something good to show off! Really glad to be back on with these guys, it's been too long

Aw man, now I'm thinking of what to send you! That'd be awesome

Maybe a relic contemptor / counts as ironclad dreadnought. Always wanted a dual HF dread with nasty cc potential to just drop pod in on top of a hoard, toast 'em, let fly with the HKM's and charge in on next turn

Right, let me just start by saying trying to upload photos from my phone leads to nothing but the most epic of fails

Ok, now we got that over with, Gentlemen (are there any ladies reading this? If so, Mum, please stop checking up on me, I'm fine, thanks) I need your votes.

I've got 3 helmet options for ol' Chaplain Yataghan, and 3 more options for the as yet un-named biker Captain. I think I know which I'd use though would appreciate your thoughts. These are in my possession so any is a more than valid option. In no particular order then (I htink I'm over the bulk upload size limit, so bare with me until I've uploaded all 6)

30 views and not 1 opinion? I am on the internet right!?!

OK, let me expand on the options a bit, which I couldn't do last night for time reasons...

Chaplain option a) remove horns and icons, not sure about the bits that'll be left where the horns connect to though. Could be a pain to do...

Chaplain option b) originally my first choice, I'd remove the stalks and have near as dammit a genuine looking chaplain skull helmet, which'd tie him to his office more than the other options.

Chaplain option c) my current favourite, I like the idea of him having upgraded lenses that feed him additional information on enemy attack patterns, jump vectors and other things that sound cool. It could be said that this'd be what gives him his re-rolls in games.

So for me it's between options b & c.

Captain options a) my favourite. The flow of the tail talisman will add to any sense of movement I can get, and the Sons of Orar are known to have plenty of suits of Mk6 armour, so that'd fit nicely. I can easily create a little back story for him being involved with the wolves to explain the runes, could be an honour thing for any reason.

Captain options b) fits in nicely with the iron halo that I've fitted to the bike, and may look a little more 'captainy'.

Captain option c) The least likely to be used, as the talisman will detract from any sense of movement.

I'm swinging strongly to option a, though b's a close contender. Penny for your thoughts?

Chaplain choice C for me kitchy! It's different and will look good de-chaosed the multiple lenses fit nicely with your reasoning behind them! And for your captain i'd pick B I really like the look of ths halo on him and he'd be instantly recognised as your captain being a bit more ostentatious than the rest :-)

Cool cool, thanks Nerdy, glad you think c for the chaplain as I was strongly edging towards that. I'm still 50/50 on the captains choices, though think you're right with what you're saying there!

Note to self - Sons of Dorn to take assault roles, whilst Sons of Orar remain as ranged fighters.

Hurr! Ogryn Bone 'Ead!

On Nimbosa, cramming as many guardsmen into troop carriers as possible.

I'd take chaplain choice c for a sternguard sergeant, and b for the chaplain, I'd say choice b for the captain, because it looks much more "high ranked" than choice a or c

Sorry pal, voting closed! Heads are on and in the process of being painted up.

The Biker Captains coming along nicely. I'm painting him up in Sons of Dorn livery, who I'll take as7th Company to fill my Fast Attack choices. Mainly so I'm not painting the same scheme over and again, I'm not a huge fan of repetition. I'm not a huge fan of repetition. I'm not a huge fan of repetition. I'm not a huge fan of repetition. I'm not a huge fan of repetition.....

The Chaplain looks cool with his tri-visor helm, the only draw back to this is the horn joins the helmet at a big chunky join which looks like it'd be too easy for me to make a mess of if I try to file it down. Fortunately though I can angle it to the left and its hidden by the jump pack.

Ahhhhh I'm sorry pal, couldn't help myself there Painting's been sadly out of the question this weekend (I know, I tried so hard!) but for good reason, as I've been doing some photography for Bitz Box which is cool, though the editing process has taken a little longer than I'd anticipated.
