Quality isn't just level of detail. I can see a huge level of detail in a slab of concrete using a magnifying lens, but that doesn't mean it's high quality art.

Quality is also a matter composition, which many artists and musicians forget about (resulting in talented people producing boring, bland, monotonous crap).

Nice to see another Red Orchestra player on Dakka, and glad to hear that RO2 is good. I'm looking forward to playing it. If it's anything like RO: Ostfront, then there are a lot of huge maps with lots of long range sniping opportunities. Sniping in RO is a whole different ballgame though, since as you said, usually there will only be one player (if that) with a scoped rifle per team, with the majority of team members carrying bolt-action rifles with iron sights. A lot of the engagements take place at reasonably long range, and I don't think the gameplay is that comparable to more arcadey games like MW (at least, arcadey compared to RO). Things like bunny hopping and quick scoping just don't work in RO. If you walk into a close-range fight with a sniper rifle against someone who has an SMG, you're going to lose probably 90-95% of the time unless you're extremely lucky or get the drop on them somehow.

Depends what you're looking at the quality of...
Quality in graphics is one thing but quality in composition is obviously lots more than just that.

I still snipe using a 12x ballistic scope...

Sorry if threadcromancy, but thought you guys might want to hear about this. Keep in mind that I am admittedly rather bad a CoD, and everyone that I game with frequently knows it.

MW2, S+D on Quarry. I'm last man standing in a building near the middle of the map, after not having found the fight I'm suddenly surrounded by five guys all trying to trick shot me from outside. I knife the first as he's spinning about 2 meters away after he came inside. The next I get on the walkways further inside the building, while he's standing next to me (I don't know). I move down as more enter the building, shooting the third from below as he tries to find me in the room. There are two entrances, on on the left close to me and one on the right. Someone enters from the left and tries to gank me; I knife him. The last member of their team appears at the other door. Instinct takes over and I sprint at him. He fires his gun wildly at me, whilst I run slightly to the left of him, dodging bullets from his assault rifle. I close the distance and knife him. As team speak comes back on I hear my team whooping and yelling with excitement as i had won us the round. I believe everyone else was about Lv70, while the lowly lv28 had just taken every single one of their team single handed.

I won the next round with the Predator I had earned from the previous round too.

Those are the Moments of Awesome™ that can render an entire evening of losses "worth it". Well done!

I don't really seen this "sniping" being an issue/annoying but then again I don't play on console where these sniper kiddies reside.

I play on console and pc, no issue with snipers.

I don't think it's what console you play but which games you play that matter. CoD was ruined by 12 year old trickshotters. Without them I think it would have a lot more respect as a game and community. Some games you simply cannot do it on (TF2 for one).
