Much prefer to have a hard copy, but could live with a digital copy, if like many other have said. Was considerably cheaper than the physical copies, something tells me thy wouldn't be though. Ad secondly that they were easy to navigate ( I doubt) and came with the same/more content and artwork.

I am actually impressed with all the rules and stuff available at a touch. I was thinking there must be a bit of work involved in making sure all the "rules at a touch" we're up to date with the rule book FAQ. Btw it is actually very quick and easy to navigate. Arguably easier than an actual book.

I'd consider if it wasn't just on Apple devices and far too expensive to justify. I have an extreme aversion to anything made by Apple, mostly for the elitist pricing and (what I perceive as an) attitude. On another device or brand, perhaps. Then there's the issue of cost and usability. If GW just plonks their digital copy on an electronic store and leaves it, you may as well buy a book, as it's receiving the same amount of updates to it- diddly. GW has had a habit of poor usability I find, and it does not entice me into trying these digital products.

Simply far too expensive. With distribution, printing, packaging I can see the reason why physical Codexes are expensive, (although far too expensive in my view) the benefits of having an electronic Format for GW is huge, quick editing, fast redistribution, ability to update on the fly and re-release, cheap hosting etc etc.

None of these advantages will be capitalised on, because they are keeping the cost and at a Premium and not planning on constant through life document upgrades (Data as a Service DaaS) so it will have few benefits and alot of draw backs. If it was half the cost I would buy it, otherwise no. The direct sales model will net more money in the long run because they are effectively cutting out the resellers (with the exception of the Retail arm), but if they don't embrace it they won't see the benefit.

It's the same with their retail arm, if they allowed "Click & Collect" for FW products in a Retail store, alot of us would use it. I like FW stuff alot, I don't mind paying, I find the P&P a closed business model and rampant profiteering. Where else do you need to order £250 to get Free P&P???

Haha good one... Your very right though... I'm much happier waiting for my Tau Empire Codex to arrive in the mail and then arrive home grab it tear it open and get confused by all the crazy rules than just download it online...

Ild much rather have the book thanks.
