Um, we already got 2 fantasy books this year. VC and Empire. They just happened to be crammed into the first quarter of the year with nothing else coming out until late 3rd or 4th quarter.

Sorry it was meant to say 'remaining' of this year.

Well they did just release 6th edition for 40k so you can see why its amazing that WoC are rumored to be in the next few months.

Since when are HE broken? Teclis is the only over powered thing in the book and he's a special character.

DE perhaps need certain things balanced out like hydras and unkillable lords.

Lizardmen mostly need salamanders upped in cost and a little downplay on the slann.

Skaven I have no experience with, but I hear they are stupid OP.

Regardless they need a new book to balance out the magic items - and for that reason so do Beastmen (contrary to my earlier comments) - it has nothing to do with 'brokeness' or specific units.

By "balance out" you mean gutted down to 10 items.

HE magic items are fine. The only one a complaint could be made for is the glass cannon book. And HE fluffwise should have far more magic items than any other army as they are the creators of such things.

No I mean balance out the magic items.

btw, if you are going to quote, at least quote.

And what pray tell magic items are in such dire need of balancing? For that matter, how many of the HE magic items are even used regularly?
Book of Hoeth
Vambraces
Armor of Caledor
Guardian Phoenix
Talisman of Saphery
Folariaths Robe
Radiant Gem
Silver Wand
Seerstaff
Banner of Sorcery

Which of those is so OTT that they need "balancing". Book of Hoeth is a huge risk for sake of IF. Banner of Sorcery is D3 which isn't huge.

I tell you what, that list right there is 10 items. If GW wants to cut out every other HE unique item besides those, go for it. There are far better things to balance out than HE magic items.

The HE magic items arn't the issue. Its the overpriced fragile troops that become insanely godly when Teclis(or a Book wielding Mage) is around.

Teclis is just way too powerful, and no amount of points would make him worth it.

They need to dump his IF on doubles rule, just give him a +6 to cast or something. Crown of Saphry should allow him to ignore the first miscast each turn on a dice roll(4+) and if the roll fails he can't cast any more this phase.

Or they could keep his IF on doubles roll, but if a Triple is also rolled or he rolls double 1s(or the normal double 6s) he suffers a miscast. There needs to be a downside to using his OP magic.

Fluffwise, Dwarves have far more magical items (Runic, but eh, semantics)

And chaos dwarves have even more than that, being the prime producer of most of the heavy chaos weaponry.

At 100 points you sacrifice any protection from any damage. I personally prefer a nice balance of offense and defense on lord characters instead of all one side.

Even then, I wouldn't really mind if they removed it as it's something I don't run.

I agree that Teclis needs fixing.
