Hey, i was just asking... It bugs me, but dont affect me.
My nearest gaming group is 5 hours away, and i dont drive (dont like it), so i normally dont go there more than once a year. Even them, they are not a "GW tied", and pretty much accept anything from any range...
But man, i would like a GW store near me, or a gaming group, even if it had some rules like that (i play orkz, and only GW have what i need for the prices i can pay).

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...
My take on Demiurgs (enjoy the reading):

Please, if you think im wrong, correct me (i will try to take it constructively). |

If you haven't built many of these guardsmen, the Armageddon steel legion models look very similar to those. 20 quid a box it ends up being nice value in comparison to the Cadian models, as well as eBay making that even cheaper.

I too have a collection of Greatcoat Troopers... I put the Pig Iron heads that have russian-looking bomber hats and gas masks
Although I love those to death, I wouldn't be able to go into a GW store with them. Luckily, GW stores have nothing in them that I need.

A couple of my squads of IG are from Warzone. I use them as Vets or Stormtroopers. The people at my shop let me use them with no problems. Use some high flocking to cover some of the lower bodies, or some bushes and walls too.
Most of my armor arent even "complete" models. I have 2 GW Vendys, 2 GW Chimeras and 3 GW Sentinals. My other armor includes Partial GW kits witch I built around. Those include 2 LRBTs (Hull & Turret GW), 4 Chimeras (Track sets GW). Complete Scratchbuilds include 1 LRBT , Medusa , Manticore. All my Scratchbuilds are the proper size if not a little larger and they let me use them with no problems. Heck, the people in the store are usually quite impressed with my works.
Impress the people with your work and they usually let you use the stuff. You know, the rule of cool.

Wow, so lucky I am to have a healthy game group nearby...
I would not buy more expensive GW stuff just because of the need to play in a GW store. Play with there what you have, and make friends with the other people that play there. Have games privately in a bar, public place, whatever's available. If the GW managers ask why you don't come in their store as often, tell them because you love the hobby and using third party manufacturers, but because of this you can't play there, and others feel as you do. Maybe even come in with the army that includes third party stuff, buy a a GW model there you can use as an accessory, or the white dwarf, or anything... then whip out your army and wait for them to kick you out.
It's entirely a matter of opinion whether or not it's in their own interest to have that policy. I know that personally, using the third party stuff allows me to start new armies, which in the end probably entices me to buy more GW stuff than normal. For example, lets say that the price point does not allow you to create a DKOK army. Your other armies are a good size and you don't really want to expand them, so you don't really end up buying anything. Lets say there is a third party manufacturer that lowers the price point of the infantry for the army in question. Suddenly it's in your grasp. Well, now you still need the lasgun arms, you still need the chimeras, the tanks, the heavy/special weapons... in the end you are a lot happier because you have a complete army at a reasonable price, GW is happy because they sold more models than they normally would, what's so wrong with that?

I know you said they don't match the look, but if you take the time to cut every single soldier appart, that is 50 soldiers for 52 pounds + shipping so about 100$, price is far for reasonnable now.
This might be a good idea, but because they \re made to fit in tanks, they are considerably smaller and not normal DKOK scale :(

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.
Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.
After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right. |

Just don't play in a Don't use that word in this manner on Dakka please. Thanks.Reds8n GW store. That way, you have artistic freedom in your modelling, which makes it a richer and more rewarding experience. FLGS don't care so go there to play.
Seriously, playing in a GW store you just get harassed constantly to buy stuff and you have TFG, screaming kiddies etc. Not a nice environment to play in and hang out anyway. Why would you want to torture yourself like this?
If all else fails, just model at home, go to FLGS and then play on vassal if you feel you aren't getting enough games in.
Is it really worth not modelling cool unique miniatures and suppressing artistic freedom just so you can play in a gakky Games Workshop? No, it isn't.

Depends on your GW. My GWs are actually pretty fun, and many people's FLGS suck and they have nothing but GW.
Nice bigoted slurs tho. Puts your POV in the correct context.
