It's too harsh to compare it against those toys. Also, please don't buy a Kindle Fire. You're paying $200 to look at amazon.com ads all the time.

Wow, I am sure there are ways to make me want this MS thing less, but absent illegal activities I'm not sure what it is.
$699 for the high end version? I can get a pretty badass laptop for that price, and that thing looks like a laptop.

They're smaller -- so more portable -- and allegedly more consumer-use friendly. I guess the bigger issue is that the bottom is falling out of laptops in favor of tablets.

You can pay an extra 15$ to turn that off... (and I got like 75$ on my amazon account, so no biggie).
I'm kinda leaning towards the Nexus though...

I abhor most Apple products except the Iphone. I have a Linux and a Windows PC. Both are amazing, I would never install MAC's operating system, period. Also, I refuse to play games on PC because they operate like Subpar PCs these days.
