And I'm glad you lot decided to pipe up.

In Pennsylvania and NC both, a state funded college issued ID with a photograph is not "proof" enough for a vote.
Nor is my Selective Service Card, Voter Registration Card, or my Learner's Permit (which has a photograph as well).

You tell me how much more identification I need to present to show I am who I am.

Oh wait. It's not applicable because I'm a registered Democrat and the two locations for early voting were churches littered with Romney crap.

Well, were I in your shoes, I'd figure out which IDs were actually acceptable, and then go get one of those.

If they did not check ID on the five people in front of me, who were apparently members of the church, then I see no reason why I should have my ID checked.

So yeah. I see no reason for me to have to supply ID when I did not have to supply it in 2008.

Really? I mean, at least check everyone's IDs... that's just lazy cheating then.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

In the UK you turn up with the voting card that is mailed to everyone who is registered to vote, with your name and address on it, you exchange that for a voting slip, tick your choice and stick it in the box.

But then we are not as free as you guys...

And so do you also believe each state has the right to intentionally target specific demographics with regulations designed to hinder their ability to vote, or persuade/intimidate them into staying home?

Eh? You mean having a valid ID is such a burden to some folks that it's deemed as persuading/intimidating/suppressing their votes?

In my state, I must show one of the following:
Identification issued by the state of Missouri, an agency of the state, or a local election authority of the state
Identification issued by the United States government or agency thereof
Identification issued by an institution of higher education, including a university, college, vocational and technical school, located within the state of Missouri
A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document that contains the name and address of the voter
Driver's license or state identification card issued by another state

I'd have to double-check, but I believe that's the same as Florida/Texas/PA...

BONUS: Do you also believe your civil war was about states' rights? Because that is honestly the first thing that jumped into my head when I read your rhetoric on this matter.

lolwat?

You do understand what federalism is...right?

EDIT 1: Nope... they're not same as MO. The new PEN law actually issues a "voter ID" card.

Exactly. Because MO isn`t a swing state. Welcome to last march.

And yeah, I know what federalism is. I think you`ll find that every Canadian with a 4th grade education does. My point was that the whole issue about states` rights was just rhetoric to mask that your civil war was about the states` right to have slaves. Your use of rhetoric, invocating states` rights kinda reminded me of that.

Are we talking about lies being told to stop people from voting?

Pennsylvania, despite being ruled against on voter ID, is telling Latino voters they need to show ID.

How is that a lie?

Edit: Oh wait... The ID law was stuck down right?

No, just delayed enforcement until after the current election. The law is valid.

All joking aside. Did you actually vote for Jill Stein?

Is she running? I'm a straight ticket kind of guy. You can get out of there more quickly that way and don't have to bother with reading.

It's been put on hold until after the election.

But the fethers are using billboards to tell minority voters to show ID anyway.

That's pretty gakky.

However, having my ID on me allowed me to vote as they had my name backwards in the system. One quick check with my Texas DL#, and they figured out the issue and I voted.

So, there's that. I have no problem requiring an ID of some kind IFF (If and only if) you don't have your Voter Registration Card.

@Kanluwellianeine: Those people are dickholes. I would complain to your states voting board or whatever it's called.

State Board of Elections, yeah. If it genuinely happened that way, I'd have long since called them.
