I painted some blood red and a evil sunz scarlet over just black plastic bases.
ESS covered well in two coats (it's on the left), The smaller probe is BR - it's a one coat, with some areas of it covered with a second coat.
Atleast ESS covers better than BR.
Goblin green on the other hand is much better than warboss green, even if in one coat (WB green is two coats). //new paints are on the left
However I decided to scratch over greens with a metal nail and the scratch appeared only on the old Goblin Green - maybe it's just an old pot, nevermind I had no pics of the scratch and GG indeed seems to be too thick when straight of the pot.
So those paints are not bad, surfaces are durable to scratches (tested only ESS and WBG), coverage varies between range, colors are indeed not the same (GG is matt while warboss green is a lil bit glossy )
Pots are more hermetic than on previous ones.

Try yellow. Averland Sunset versus whatever other yellow you want to look at.

I am a sucker for basing kits, especially the resin bits. Looks like an expensive month for me.

'Eavy metal edge paints are a welcome addition, but I won't be buying any if they don't become available separately.

Why test a layer paint directly over plastic? It's meant to be thin and to cover over a similarly coloured base paint rather than over bare plastic or a black undercoat.

That's true, but if you want to see how well a coat covers then smearing it over black is a pretty easy way to check.

I'll second disliking the droppers. If you don't use or shake the paint often enough the paint clogs the nozzle, and it's a pain. I like the pots because I can open them up and stir them much easier than trying to shake the droppers.

Seconded. Droppers are not great if like me you have to store them on their side - I use lockable Really Useful 4litre trays to keep hobby stuff away from the kids.

It is the reason that you always seem to get seperated paint even after shaking, the nozzle just seems trap it there.

No problem with paint pots here.

I like this box. Granted it's expensive but at the same time you do save some money in the long run. And who knows, maybe I'll find a way to use all those colors in the end.

It's a lot of money for an 'ultimate paint set' especially if it doesn't include the Eavy Metal ones, which they're about to drop.

So are you saying that you wouldn't purchase something like this because it didn't include something that most people didn't know was coming out if it weren't for the spoilers? C'mon...

It's only that much if you pay retail for it. Also, the mega impressive "unit with stickers" is basically free given that you get a pretty hefty discount on the "per pot" price of paint. But if someone really wants to buy my cardboard box and stickies for $450, I'm certainly willing to sell it to them.

Hey! The new one click bundle has a saving of Two pounds! That's brilliant!

Does anyone know when the Edge Paint Set is available?

WD suggests it should be out now, but unless I'm missing something, it's nowhere to be seen on the GW website.

Is it already known what is the price of edge paints set in pounds?
I suppose 43 euro is GW's analog to 35 GBP?
Oh and the shiny red paint station on top - how much does it cost ?
Just counting of how much of these silly things will fit into a GW order small enough for 10 GBP shipping, LOL Not much, not much at all.

Can anyone confirm this Edge Paints set will be 43,- Euro (I heard 46,-) for 9 paints + 1 brush??

When I asked the local GW manager why this has to be so Goddamn overpriced again a couple of weeks ago he began rambling about how good the brush is, and that he would probably buy two sets just to have the brushes....

(I was like yeah right )

Speaking of overpriced stuff, I noticed that the Heavy Metal Brush Set has made a return this year.

He'll get a 50% staff discount though, so it doesn't seem so expensive to him

I actually realy like the idea of this, the storage that is, its thin and can be tidied away easily, which is a bane of my life.

I have a heap of the old GW paints and some of the new ones, but a lot of the older ones have gone off, and the foundation paints are almost all finished (sad face).

I have a few of the paint rack solutions from a company in Oz which are good but they do take up about twice the desk space of this set and just one of them only holds about 25 pots.

Folk are moaning about the cardboard, but i would imagine its corrigated so hard wearing, and the trays are plastic.

I always hated the old GW paint sets as they were just in figure cases so took up a huge amount of space.

This is very small and can be packed away.

meaning if i buy this i will clear a lot of space on my kitchen table and storage desk.

Its a lot of pennies, but have seen it for £220 online, thats a fair saving.

hmm.
