Welcome to the Shiny Model Syndrome part of WM/H. They are all awesome, and you want to run them all.....
Start with one faction. Get the basics down. Then expand.
I have something like 110pts of Khador (scared to count it up). 35pts Cryx, and the Trolls Warpack... So I feel ya.

Metal is more fragile post paint since you can chip if you are rough with the models.
Certain races have ways to run warbeasts beyond what would normally be allowed or preferable for a caster due to fury manipulation abilities. (Skorne paingivers and everblight forsaken or shepard) Hordes is unique in that way, that it can throw out more beasts and run them at full capacity than warmachine can throw out warjacks with full focus. AS a result, you'll notice beasts are more fragile, have more attacks at less damage, tend to have weaker infantry. Not huge, but a point or two in stats here and there.

It all depends on the caster.
Hordes in general needs to run more Warbeasts as opposed to Warmachine which tends toward less Jacks. This is because Warbeasts are the primary way to generate Fury, and if you lose your beasts you will be out of Fury too. Unless you start Cutting.
Pointwise, you will spend a good portion of the points on Warbeasts. And the lower the point level the more you will spend.
That said, some casters can't handle too many Beasts. Otherwise they will end up with some Warbeasts frenzying each turn, or those warbeasts will be useless as they are maxed out on Fury and can't buy anything.
This can be mitigated as some factions have ways of removing the Fury from a Beast with a solo/unit. I'm not sure if Circle has anything like that though.

no, its not much different painting metal. undercoat, main coat, highlights, dry brushing etc. the same as plastic, really.
regarding "good" models - they're all good. warpwolves are great. satyrs are pretty cool. the rocks are very good. even most of the lights, especially the gorax, have their uses. everything can be built into an effective game winning strategy.
More specifically, what catches your eye?
Noob9405 wrote:Hmmmm I don't want to go all warbeasts just mostly warbeasts
this is par for the course with Hordes factions. typically, if you run 1 light and 2 heavies, you're still haling about 20odd points for just those three. put in a solo like the lord of the feast, and a squad of infantry, and you're easily talking 25-35pts.

here's a quick rundown on most of the circle beasts.
argus. fast. nice animus.
woldwyrd: hunting magic users.
gorax: nasty animus
Satyrs: great second line hitters and great slammers.
feral warpwolf; versatile abilities, and great beatstick.
pureblood warpwolf: beatstick, and second line hitter. gives a nice buff to other warpwolves.
ghetorix: super smashy beatstick.
warpwolf stalker: hit and run animus, reach, pathfinder. fantastic beatstick.
woldwarden: tough attrition piece, poops out forests, useful for slinging spells.
wold guardian: attrition piece, heavy hitter, good defensive piece.
megalith: great animus, useful at smashing stuff, good at spellslinging. baldur loves him.
essentially, most beasts have multiple uses. in multiple situations. its how you play.

check your rulebook an animus is a "spell" that warbeasts have. either they can be forced to cast it, or their controlling warlock can cast it. For example, the Gorax has an animus called primal. when cast, It gives +2MAT and +2str to a friendly warbeast. effectively, it is incredibly useful at turning great damage output into stupidly awesome damage output. Some animi are better than others, and some warbeasts will be taken for their animus alone.
Regarding second line hitter, it means just what it says. its not a frontline fighter, but its useful as "plan B", for taking out lighter stuff, for the second wave assault, and for mopping up, and finishing off things already damaged.
For example, Ghetorix, Feral Warpwolves, and Warpwolves stalkers are fantastic frontline fighters. they go in and wreck face. the pureblood doesnt have the same raw damage output. So using him as a frontline fighter isnt making the most of him. he's better off going in after the frontline fighters have done their thing, and with that' he;s best used to go after lighter stuff, or stuff thats already been damaged.

Noob9405 , i think you sound like a Skorne player. Beast heavy with great support is how they play, coupled with homicidal maniacs with swords.
The beasts are pretty tough, There are alot of great animi (consider them like bonuses for your beasts) including rush .
The cyclops shaman is also useful as a backup beast (he can cast other beasts animi or help get debuff spells/effects off your guys).
The downside to Skorne is titans look a little goofy, and the tusks on the titan models means you have to modify the pose/tusks to play properly.

Battle box + a unit box and/or some solos that look like fun.
Trolls seem to like the fellcaller, Skorne paingivers, and circle maybe shifting stones for movement shenanigans or Gorax for face crushing and the animus.
This is based mostly on what I have seen suggested and included in lists commonly so I may be way off.

Do yourself a favor and don't spend it all at once. Get the minimum you need to play and expand as you learn the game. In general though you want
A Battlegroup (warlock & some beasts) -> A heavy kit (earthborn for trolls, bronzeback for skorne, stalker for circle) -> key support pieces (krielstone bearers for trolls, beast handlers for skorne, shifting stones + UA for circle) -> an infantry unit typically something with high DEF.
This is really super generic but if you must spend all at once go along those lines.

Just make sure that you factor in the cost of a rulebook at the very least (the army book is optional but worth getting if you like reading about your faction a bit more in-depth).
No point spending 125 on models when you don't know how to use them

For Skorne, after the rules & the battlebox, I would recommend a unit of beast handlers. After that, an agonizer is always useful. You could just about get both of those and one of the new plastic heavy kits, which would let you make another gladiator, or a cannoneer or a sentry. Or, you could get the beast handlers, an agonizer, and a couple of different warlocks, and see how they play.
