VotLW doesn't really help with MSS. The Lord already has Base LD10. Just thought I'd toss that in there.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

A Chaos Lord is Ld10?

Yes, according to page 93 of the codex.

Sorry, just to confirm....do models with Everliving get to roll for RP after being swept or not?

Yes. There are some rather lengthy threads on this topic and I've posted a few times about why this is so. My search-fu is not up to snuff this morning though so I'll leave it to others to ferret them out.

No. There are some lengthy threads on this topic, and I have posted a few times showing how *still* you cannot use RP / EL after being swept, and nothing about 6th has changed this

Just to show there is no consensus

Just to stop this before it goes further:

Pro-EL side says that since you can use EL after a unit is wiped out, and SA removes as a casualty, you can.

The counter-argument is as follows: no special rules can save the unit (and 4th ed specifically called out WBB) and the unit, not the model is removed as a casualty.

There. Both sides with a basic summary. For more information search for one of a dozen threads regarding this exact topic.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Yes, please take more vehicles. Like Necrons don't have every other unit fully capable of killing a walke4 at range or close combat. My scarabs have been hungry for good vehicles to munch on, which are pretty few and far between these days. Or we can just wreck face with Gauss, Tesla, Death Rays, or just backing a D. Lord up with a squad of rending Wraiths. That is not even taking into account our access to the GK alliance which looks forward to seeing more demonic vehicles, than less.
That's what Tesla destructors and allied Dreadknights are for!

This thread is genius.
We have Necron Players complaining about being called cheese, being whined at AND coming out with statements like the above
(Not trying to offend, I just find it funny)

@NecronLord3

What would you do against Necrons if the roles were reversed and you were using chaos?

I don't know the Chaos book all that well but I can think of some general options...

1. shoot them instead

2. don't challenge with the Lord but with the Sergeant instead(you guys do have sergeants don't you, I honestly don't know)

3. break the Lord off from the squad and charge with the squad first

4. except the fact that there are other characters in the game that are better than your Chaos Lord no matter how you tool them(I don't expect my Overlord to win every battle he fights in)

1) That's plan A

2)That's plan B (Praxiss beat you to it )- charge, win the cc with the squad and sweeping advance

3)That's plan C

4)It's a point...but no one wants to auto lose either. MSS can pull that off without even a chance of a good fight breaking out.
I'd prefer to lose to the lord in cc and be slashed up by the warsythe and die than to be auto killed by MSS. Then at least it feels like I had a chance.

My whole philosophy in 40k is I don't care if I win or lose, as long as it's fun.

Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

It's no fun when the two warlords are facing off in combat and one tries finding out what his own thunderhammer tastes like.

I got lucky and charged the lone Overlord with a maulerfiend the other week. Guy looked disappointed when he found out it was a walker and not a MC. Only problem is that if the Mauler didn't take him out then it gets torn apart quickly.

yes try that with a D. lord attached to a squad of wraiths, scarabs, or triarch Pretorians.

MSS may not be fun for some players but it also is fun for us either when most armies have kitted out close combat monsters that can wipe out whole squads of Necrons with a single charge. MSS put a speed bump or road block up to compensate for our lack of access to similar equipment, we just turn yours against you or keep you from using it.
