There is two chapters that I know of that have been absorbed. (Rainbow Warriors and the Astral Knights)

Astral Knights were senior staff to the new chapter and were if I am correct, placed into stasis.

Really? Have you read this thread? Half of the posts on page 2 were about marines not being able to blend well, and not using camo.

@ Crowsplat

As requested I have the reference from IA10. Page 13 Blood in the Dark Waters

They Identified their chapter as that of the Carcharodon Astra, using the ancient form (or Space Sharks to give their name a more modern rendition in Low Gothic), and formally requested their acceptance and permission to enter the war zone and draw blood.

Fair enough. I concede to you ability to cite canon sources and present a rational argument. However I would still contest any assertion that there is a wealth of established canon on them. Nearly all of what we know is directly from the Badab war.

The only reason I asked was because I was looking for some rough fluff justification for using lists like Kantor sterngard spam and similar that was more interesting than just "because".

I was thinking something along the lines of a small group being absorbed but still outcast. Wearing the Carcharodons colors and heraldry and reporting to the senior command but operating as their own force.
