Then it's an RPG. I'd certainly count it as one...
By that logic 99% of all games are RPG's.
Yup. They're just in different depths of roleplaying. CoD is technically an RPG, but nobody really regards it as such due to the linear gameplay.
Are you actually retardėd or just really dumb?
RPG = role playing game, so technically thats almost every game.
Now it's been classified as a specific genre it has specific connotations.
Back to topic, does anyone know any other good rpg's? I'm looking for a new to play for ps3.
By your logic, every game is an RPG, as in every game you have a role to play (even in Tetris, your role is to rotate the blocks to fill lines and remove them)

Not my logic
I also added

That was to try to move the discussion along and get us off the tangent.

If JRPGs are your thing, or do not bother you, at the very least, Ni No Kuni is really fun. It is definitely a JRPG though, so if that turns you off, stay away.
If Demon's Souls/Dark Souls fit as action RPG types, those are both great as well.
Deus Ex was pretty fun, if sci-fi works better for you.
Dragon Age was fun, the first is more RPG and planning based, the sequel more action oriented; it got some flak but was a good game.
Dungeon defenders is sort of RPG meets action game meets tower defense.
Not as in-depth, but entertaining nonetheless.
Then there is always FarCry 3-Skyrim-Fallout 3/NV-Red Dead Redemption if you want an FPS variation on a theme.
I will check to see what I forgot when I get home.

I just can't get into J-RPG or any asian RPG. I'll give them high marks for style, but they're rarely open world type games and you often end up on a very linear path. Plus, I'm not a console gamer.
Fallout series (loved them all!), Baldur's Gate & Icewind dale series were both memorable for me. And of course all the Elder Scrolls games after and including Morrowind.
I also really liked Arx Fatalis, relatively obscure euro-developed RPG. Would have loved a sequel.
Wizardy had a great series, and I really enjoyed Wizardry 8. Classic western stat and gear based RPG.
I really want to play the Dragon Age series.

The first three FF games weren't bad and IIRC had fairly open worlds. FF7 marked the beginning of the end for that particular series.
For Fantasy RPGs I would suggest
TES 2-5 (Skyrim >= Morrowind > Daggerfall > Oblivion)
Dragon Age 1 (I have 2, but I've yet to play it, hmm spring break project perhaps)
Final Fantasy 1-3
The Witcher (I didn't care for it TBH, but it's well done at the very least)
Planescape Torment
Baldur's Gate
Neverwinter Nights 1 (some say NWN2 is good, I disagree vehemently)
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magicka Obscura (the main storyline isn't any good, the rest of the game is awesome, but it is a bit linear)
Other
Fallout 3
KotOR
KotOR 2
Mass Effect Trilogy

FTFY
If you're looking for an old school dose of fun, I would recommend Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana and Illusion of Gaia. The Breath of Fire series is great as well. Anything involving the Legend of Zelda is pretty much gold.
FF6, 7 and 10 are worth a look, as well as Xenosaga.
Currently I'm obsessed with Skyrim.

FF7 is incredibly overrated. It is the peak solely because it was the introduction to FF for a lot of players.
Comparable to how TES players said Morrowind is the best! and then Oblivion is the best! and now Skyrim is the best! The audience is growing considerably with each release and older games are appearing increasingly dated to a generation obsessed with graphics.

If you loved Fallout 1 and 2 then you definitely should check out Arcanum. Completely different setting but similar style as it was developed by the main people who did Fallout 1 and 2.
If you loved BG and Icewind Dale then you definitely should try Planescape: Torment. Personally, I loved this game more than Baldur's Gate as you had much more freedom over how your character developed. Plus the Planescape setting is much more unique and interesting, in my opinion.

I can echo both these, though honestly, I never managed get into the BG, Icewind Dale or NWN games, I generally dislike party based RPG's.

I forgot VotM:Bloodlines as well, for shame.
The only comparable vampire RP experience is in heavily modded TES games. VotM is a gem.

Knights of the Old Republic 1 + 2.
Most Dragon Quest games
Dark Cloud (PS2)
Final Fantasy 7,8,9 and 10. (10-2 is terrible but the battle/levelling system is actually quite good.)
All the older FF's (1-3 more so) are great also, so wire in there if you fancy some nostalgia. Also avoid 13 and 13-2 in the newer ones also, they were awful.
If going down the Fable route I would just pick up the Lost Chapters its the best of the series.
Dark Souls needs to be mentioned although beware the difficulty, I know a lot of my friends hated it after a while becuase they felt it was too hard.
Also don't know if they count or not:
Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance
Any Fire Emblem
Recettear: An Item Shops Tale
Monkey Island Series
Grim Fandango
Also if you haven't as I seriously love this game:
Eternal Sonata.
