It's basically the same thing as YAMS but less missions and combined missions rather then piecemeal. It also does not use crates or civvies.

And you get to discard some, so the conflicts they create actually can give you more flexibility.

If you're a douche and can't even pick your own cards correctly... you might be playing just like me!

Seriously though, even just the possibility of pulling cards from a pack and saying both sides have common objectives, like Von Skyfury and I did, is much more fun.

You draw 6 discard 2. Sometimes the objectives are pretty horrible, but sometimes they are in synergy - like that one time where I had to destroy the enemy flag and destroy the enemy flag in CC - 2 points for the same thing, but if I failed that I'd be in trouble.

The Crate and the Civvie only prohibit infiltrators to be placed 8 inches from it, so in it's ZoC. You can interact with the Objectives on the first turn, unless the card specifically say you can't. It is very common for me to murder the civvie on my first turn with a well-placed Fiday.

Also, the way we play it, is that each YAMS objective provides you with 1 Exp that you can later use according to the Paradiso development charts. That's something for Ironbovin - it provides for an even deeper meaning for the game

Yep you draw 6 and discard 2. However the fact that get either 2 insanely difficult missions, conflicting missions, or a mix of the two usually means you aren't discarding for sake of picking you best choices, but rather choices that you have a chance of hell in completing.

For a lot of armies lists killing the flag in CC is laughable and depending on what you are facing saving the civvie can be an autofail.

Don't mention the Spec-Ops... he doesn't fancy the Ariadna one. Like, at all.

Thanks for the link. I've alays wondered was YAMS was, people always mention it and expect others to just know what it is. I was expecting something more of the sweet potato variety. I'll have to get these printed and laminated at my local printing place.

Chemical printed off the YAMS cards, and that's pretty much what we used to play games until I had to take a break. They do make the game fun, but, personally, I've gotten a little frustrated with them when I have eliminated all but one unit and still end up losing. Of course, that's my fault for not paying more attention to my objectives, and terrible die rolls when I do.

See, that just makes me want to play it more. After playing nothing but kill points in 5th edition 40k, I was ecstatic to see the objective system in 6th edition, and my first few games I absolutely wholloped my friends. Like, my Tyranids still took crippling losses, but focusing on getting the first kill, a unit in their deployment zone, killing their warlord and sitting on objectives was more interesting than just kill kill kill kill kill.

While I like the Paradiso campaign system, for 'normal' games I wasn't thrilled with what amounted to 'kill their Lt, kill kill kill kill'. I'll definitely be putting YAMS to use.

Agreed, but the things you mention are not really a problem to me - I usually have a jumper plus an Impersonator to do at least 2 of the objectives I get.

I also agree about the civilian - last 3 games, she died on the first enemy turn before I even managed to get a glimpse of her. I still won, though.

Fidays...are the most annoying unit I've ever had to fight. So annoying. =P

And Loki, despite my occasional frustration with YAMS, it's still a great way to spice up your games. I recommend giving it a try. I know one of the FLGS in the area uses YAMS for all the tournaments they run.

Hmmm... a tournament and a warm plate of yams...

I guess I should start running two, to make up for the obvious shortcomings of Bahram.

Oo shortcommings?

- 2 Fidays and a character fiday
- Link team of Lasiq climbing plus viral snipers
- AVA 4 of Muttawi'ah e/m chainriflers
- Muyib viral minelayer link teams
- linkable Aswira eff you I have 2 wounds and regen, plus a doctor for kicks
- AVA 3 Farzans with camo chain of command

With options like that I would really say short comings. You don't get piles of mercs and holo like your other sect, but there is piles of boot to face.

As I don't play with proxies, some of the things you mentioned are not available. Ghazi have awful models, Lasiq have only 2 models.

Asawira I'd never link, think about the costs - each Asawira is 60 points.

You also should have mentioned Religious Troops, as that is a major asset of the Hassasin.

I'm not saying Bahram sucks completely, but Qapu Khalqi seems to have more plain tricks up it's sleeve. At least tricks I could see myself using

As mentioned, those Fiday's are incredibly annoying, but the only thing I have even more trouble with against Haqq is that Lasiq with the viral sniper rifle. That unit alone nearly wiped out my entire force one game. It climbed half way up a building, and then proceeded to pick off my units.

Even with the relatively nice BTS that PanO units get. Boot to the face for sure.

Same issue that Nomads have with Corregidor and Bakunin. Bakunin is more up to date sculpts, more tricks, and has generally more sculpts available so most people go for that sect. Corregidor however catches people offguard with the pure boot to face they can deliver.

Proxying is 100% legal in Infinity and shouldn't come with a stigmata, though I too am the same way. My logic on not proxying though is that I have only a few models shy of the whole Nomads faction, so I hve plenty of other things to field lol.
