More squats is always a possibility. I have great heaps of unfinished ones. Mostly just the rank and file but there's some officers and a couple of bikes.

Anyone seen this one before? I am at a loss as to who made it and when - it just says orc on the tab.

Cool stuff.

This last one´s a crewmember fro a citadel warmachine from the eighties.

Must be one of the first spear chukkas, like Notlob´s, whereas this one looks like a variant as the spear is actually a maze type weapon here.

Must look that up. Will post what I found when I find something.

Oh I put the mace head on myself because the original end was missing and It looked right. Thanks for that, he makes sense now.

Anyone know any good NNM tutorials? Steep learning curve here.

Cheers buddy. I think when I was trying to find out what mini he was I neglected to look at war machines and was just looking at rank and file troops.

beastman with NMM cuirass. Sort of a corroded brass colour. C. 1988

and here is Ruglud from the regiments of renown 1988. His armour looks very human-like because in the fluff it says they stole their armour from human remains in a tomb

Hey Gretar thanks for visiting and commenting. They are getting pretty old now huh. I will have to open a museum.

My infinity competition entry. I didn't try hard enough I must try harder. I think I ranked 10th out of 19 so I didn't fail too badly. The idea of the piece is that she has been flitting silently through the jungle to do some important mission and she has just stopped at the waters edge for a rest and suddenly noticed the beauty of the forest. I spend days making the base and only a few hours painting the miniature because deadlines make me panic. Don't get me wrong I'm really pleased with it but when you are in a competition for a hundred quids worth of models you get serious opposition.

Don't worry vallhala its not a competition... oh wait, except for that last bit, that was a competition. I wish someone would do a "paint a really old mini" competition and have huge prizes. That'd be right up my alley.

Thankyou Sgt. kell.

Great contest entry, I'd have voted for it if I knew about the contest soon enough. I really like the colors, nice pastels, great basing and overall presentation.

Best sculpts of the 80s. All pre 1987 going back to 1985.

Non metallic metal is coming along well. I'm really on a roll with the fantasy - I think it is freeing up my style so I can explore new techniques.

Nice NMM! I've never had the courage to try that on any of my models. How hard is it to do?

I would say its not as hard as I thought. There's probably a tutorial out there that can explain it better than me. I like to do mine with vallejo white paint, P3 armour wash and vallejo pale grey with a hint of blue mixed in.

Oh and I did a brass bangle with snakebite leather (you cant get it anymore but I still have a fairly full bottle), shaded with vallejo sepia wash and highlighted with white with a hint of yellow ink. Here is a better picture. I think it needed a sharper contrast looking at it now:

Thanks paint_to_redemption.

Thanx for the trip down memory lane. The genestealer hybrid model is great.

These three goblins are a kill team - first the little one shoots you in the back of the knee, then the crazy looking one with the big rusty ball comes rushing out of the darkness and wacks you. Finally grandpa goblin serves the coup de grace and shanks you with his sticka. I call him grandpa because he is wearing slippers - he also has magic mushrooms in his belt!

Whew. I have a lot of those old skaven models I painted back when I was like 11 and 12. You've done them much more justice than I did. Nice Greenskins and chaos dudes too, Weety

Glad to hear you're all enjoying the nostalgia and the paint-jobs. I strive to improve my painting all the time and these old models deserve a little love for old times sake.

More pics - first here is a chaos sorcerer, probably 1985 (I really should check the slotta tab before I seal them in) displayed in my handmade dungeon floor tile. Made of milliput, cardboard, PVA glue and sand. I hope to make molds some day and sell casts on ebay (an idea that needs more thought)

Here's some dwarves - these were kindly donated by inmygravenimage. Drunk dwarf is 1998 I think. And thats the warhammer fantasy quest dwarf that. Very rare and beautiful.

And just to be different here are some models from marauder miniatures. Dark elf assassins 1990
