I have just added a pledge for 20 and 50 to the list (a guy messaged me wanting 50, so who am i to argue )

hopefully they meet your needs.

Sounds like a fun idea as long as its a design of your making ( and not a copy of a GW one ) then it'll probably be cool.

I'm not entirely shure how i will add custom designs yet.
its hard to price something like that, you could have one person wants an army icon, made in 10 sizes and filing a page. (which would be easy, through to someone wanting a highly complex design that takes many hours to program.

But anyway, i will add it somehow

I thought about this for a while, and decided to unlock them right away

Sweet! I've got a number of friends interested in them now, so I'll let them know that . Very cool of you to unlock them, thanks!

No problem, only seemed fair

Also, here are some pics of the Steampunk and Tank camo. (These pictures do not represent the entire design, there will be other cogs/tanks of more sizes in the final designs.)

Obviously you could use any colour. I realise these more fun designs may not be to everyone's taste, but I like them :-)

Its hard to say how many uses you will get, but they are only semi-reusable, so its only going to be a few uses.
The Grids like the dragon scales are more fragile compared to some of the others. you will need to take care when removing or you risk stretching/tearing it (you can see in the dragons scales video on my kickstarter page an example, where i noticed it stretch a little when it was nearly removed, so slowed down to help protect it.)

Normally, one factor is how much positive/chunky detail the model has, but the grids only really work on a smoothish model or one with recessed detail (or the grid loses is even layout), so that wont be a factor.

The grids are cool though, imagine how long something like that would take you to do by hand, and it would be hard to get it so precise

Here is the latest design to be unlocked in our kickstarter, Classic Camo.
I had not planned to do such a simple design, but enough people asked for it that decided to make it.

Obviously you could use any colour, and you dont need to overlap shapes ( like i did in the pic ) if you dont want to.

The Next design that can be unlocked is a mini version of the Shattered design, i'll have pics tomorrow, but here is a pic of the normal sized one to give you an idea.

Brian

Getting a nice selection of camo! Mini shattered I'll definitely pick up as I really like shattered.

As someone who is still fairly new to miniatures gaming, I'm intrigued by these as a method to improve my meager paint jobs.

The next game I'm getting into with some friends is the Robotech miniatures game, which uses 6mm scale fighters and other vehicles/robots. Think some of these could be applied to such small things by a novice with brushes (I'm unlikely to have the cash for even a starter airbrush by the time my giant box of figures rolls into town)?

You can use stencils with brushes, but it will be a bit more difficult and time consuming to get a good job which will still be less smooth than using an airbrush. Still far better than free handing it with brushes though I'd imagine.

Highly recommend getting an airbrush if you're staying in this hobby though.

I think it'd be nice to get some simple numbers and letters in a stencil small enough to put the typical IG 3 number pattern on a guardsmen shoulder.

And those gears in a tiny stencil would rock too.

I like what I'm seeing though.

I was looking at decals from here to sort that, they have a great range of dry and wet transfers. I'd prefer to have an airbrushable solution but that might be too inconvenient to bother with.

Hey guys

Well we reached 200 backers, amazing!!.

To celebrate, i have a fun freebie unlocked;

Mona - A small 3 layer stencil to create a modern style graffiti mural on your scenery. (size to be confirmed)
.

Also, i have finally figured out the tiger stripe design, and i have even amazed myself with how cool it looks.( This is already unlocked.)
check it out!
.

What do you think?

And finally, here is a painted pic for the radiation freebie.

I'm a big fan of both the tiger stripe scheme and the middle radiation symbols

It might be a trick of the camera, but the biggest and smallest radiation symbols seem to have more open space than the middle two (I prefer the look of the middle ones)

Really love the tiger stripe, you nailed it. The radiation freebie is another good generally useful thing to have that I can see myself using here and there.

Yeah, that's not happening. I'm trying to keep this cost effective as it is, half a grand on a compressor, quality gun, assorted odds and ends and a pile of paints isn't happening. My next target will be piles of 2-3 inch tall Robotech figures.

Hence my interest in possibly using said stencils with brushing, which this campaign says should be possible, if somewhat difficult. I'd likely use them on a select few figures (officers and specialty units). A way to bring a little more detail to a couple of figures, rather than another sizable expenditure unto itself. Not to mention finding a place to use it in the condo complex.

Just backed for the £37 pledge will add a couple more later now I have a way of doing my gang cars Any chance of getting some small stencils of burning skulls or ghost skulls to fit 1/50th scale cars ?

Plus I have another use for my airbrush

Hey.
As stated in the campaign, it is possible to use brushes, but far from ideal, and it will take a long time. but if its just for a few specific models it will be better than a whole army.

As for if they work for the models in question, some of the "mini" sets might work, check the previous page here on dakka for pics of the mini digi and hexo cam, and compare the measurements to your models.

Hey , nice to see another returning customer pledging

As for your request, we already have the hotfod flames and loose skulls designs that come in multiple sizes, so you could combine the two to get what you are after.

.

If you need anything more specific than that, you could always consider a custom design, as explained in update 16, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/805848592/anarchy-models-hd-stencil-system-for-camo-and-deta/posts/602105

Hi mate

Yes you got me in the end I was just checking Dakka's recent threads and clicked to see what was happening I thought it was just going to be camo designs.

When I saw the skulls and flames I was sold I have some Apoc gang vehicles that need painting and to be honest was put of by trying to find dam transfers for them

Then I saw these and thought PERFECT save time and with a little adjustment can make some cool designs easily

I was just after a ghostly skull/ smoking skull design, the kind of thing you see on pimp m ride

Cool

yes, not just camo, lots of cool things happy you found them.

I really dont like transfers, part of the reason this project started in the first place.

a smokey/ghosty skull is not something that can be acheived properly with a stencil alone, you need some sublte freehand work too. Trying with just a stencil would end up with too clean edges.

Fishboy wrote:Just upped to the 20 stencils but I still dont see the loose skulls yet. Did I miss them?

Woah, thanks Fishboy

Sorry, the loose skulls are not painted yet. i'm playing around with what i can do with adding a little more detail to some of the larger skulls.
As mentioned before, things moved a little faster than i was prepared for, but i'm working as fast as i can, and should have painted pics of everything soon.

I'll do a preview of the loose skulls asap, so you can see where they are at right now.

So, have no fear, they are still unlocked, i'm just perfecting them

cheers,
Brian

Flecktarn is slightly-less-than modern german military camoflage that developed near the end of wwii, its pretty much all browns and dark greens over a pale green and a lot of the digital patterns that modern folks wear were based on it (it was pretty much the most effective camo, but typical to germans, pretty expensive to produce)

I'm not sure if stencils would work on non-vehicle models without nice flat sides

If you are talking about on infantry, its not really possible, not unless they are a very large scale.

for vehicles i'm going to look into it, but its a tricky one.

there are already several, with more planned.

Mini Classic camo should be unlocked soon, and i expect to have mini tiger stripe at some point.

The US stars sheet will also go down to 15mm too, and i expect i will be able to do a similar Garman sheet later.

Not tried it yet, but i expect this will work for 15mm as well.

check out the campaign if you have not already.

Yeah, its not really an easily repeatable pattern, at all.

I understand im living in a fantasy world wanting to easily flecktarn dreamforge dudes, I'm thinking with a 15mm vehicle template i could get at least a semblence of the undercoat and then try to finish up with a really tiny brush

I'm thrilled with all the 15mm options, although I'll be using them on 10mm vehicles I think they will work perfectly.

Edit: Mini Classic Camo has been unlocked! What is "Oozing drips" at 10K?

Happy you like them, there will likely be even more over time.
They are not designed with only 15mm in mind, they are for anything that the size is right, 10 or even 6mm could work depending on models.

I have called them "Mini" rather than a scale, as i see them being used by many scales.

here is a pic of the recently unlocked Mini Classic Camo.
.

Oozing drips as as its sounds, strips of drips to make it look like the vehicles has been painted to show running blood, slime, oil, or whatever, down the side of vehicles.

here is a concept.
.

can be used as a single strip, or in layers, and with any colour you like.

Brian
