Pit of Shades, lots of
RBT/RXB shots and chaff units but the thing that shines the most against them is.. a good ol' horde of Executioners. Especially when taken with a good standard and buffed.
Ogres are scary with their big charge, but if you shoot down their chaffs and use yours to stop them, they will not get those impacts onto your executioner block.. and then they'll meet a horde's worth of S6 hits at their initiative order with murderous prowess just in case you didn't land enough wounds already.
Believe me, I've seen executioners eating Irongut death stars and mournfang cavalry units when they stole their charge. If it's not a big ogre unit, it'll weep because of the
ASF, lack of armour saves against them and getting wounded way too easily. Of course they'll deal some damage to you - ogre monstrous infantry is very strong and the ogre charge rule is scary, but with proper maneuvering you can take it away from them.
And of course the thing I feel like I'm preaching about, as I seem to mention it in every thread I post in - dreadlord on a pegasus with cloak of twilight, ogre blade, sea cloak, heavy armour and shield. That thing eats ironblasters, mournfangs, ironguts and, well, anything it gets a charge on. And with flying thanks to the mount, he will charge. Often. 4 WS7 S6 hits with d3 wounds in first round of combat will see you winning combat through brutal combat resolution as you shrug off a lot of hits with your 1+ and on charge you will destroy any doomwheel, ironblaster, giant, hydra or ghorgon by just looking funny at them. For just 300 pts! For me it's an auto-include for every army, no matter the points.
Add some
Ld sniping and you're home!
P.s. - if you feel really insecure about chaffs and redirecting/halting his charge, put a tiny block of repeater crossbowmen and let them take the charge, get wiped out and laugh as he overruns right into your executioners' blades. Cheap, sacrificial unit that can still be useful as chaff hunters, speed bumps and, well.. they will shoot as long as they're alive! I know, it's not a 20-0 tactic, but it's not that easy to get such score against ogres with their mournfangs, ironguts and ironblasters.
