yes I'm listed in the credits of several movies as Consigliere to the Director.

I'd believe Consigliere to Godfrey Ho

...Hey I should make a fun little skirmish game based off Godfrey Ho ninja movies

You forgot about some kind of black market Gangster family.

still remember one day we were visiting the factory during one of these sales and a black sedan drives up to the gates, and three men got out. one had a pistol at his waist, the others were carrying AK variants. they said they didn't have the cash that day and that we'd have to accept a check instead. I don't know how long we stared them down waiting for the other shoe to drop, but eventually they realized we weren't going to budge and got back in their car and left.

basically in Hollywood jargon the Cosigliere to the director is an unofficial crew member who the director bounces ideas off of.

I had to double check this, but I didn't see anything that said there was a consigliere to director Bryan W. Simon. Also you are a college aged student yes? If this is the case, then you would be on average 25 at the oldest, which would make you like 12 when Along for the Ride was released...

the Consigliere is typically listed in the special thanks section of the credits, and I was actually like 8 or 9 when Along for the Ride was released. I got the position by just being in the right place in the right time. my dad was the producer for both those movies and one day I was involved in a conference call between the two on my way to school one day. it just kind of went from there. now I'm actually working on a script for their next production that is under the working title of "the ramp" about three generations of veterans and their experiences in the battles of Normandy, Khe Sanh, and Faluja.

also @carlos13th: I'd hardly call our operations in Poland "black market" seeing as the Minister of Industry and Commerce kind of invited us to come build a factory just outside Warsaw. my family prides itself on following all applicable laws and regulations and always operating above board. that's also why we get along so well with the Tata Group whenever we see them at a business conference, we have a lot in common.

This thread has certainly turned for the cringe worthy...

Agreed, we're way off topic and I think this is where this conversation should probably end. I will return at some point with a working rules set. farewell for now!

So... there is a lot that doesn't seem to want to add up, but in my research about these really outlandish claims, I actually determined that he can't quite be full of it...

OP's father is a partial owner of the Production Company that made the two movies the OP was "consigliere" on. The director of the film is one of the other partial owners, so while he's technically correct it still seems odd to be taking the advice/bouncing ideas off of an 8 year old. OP's family is a part of a holding company in Columbus, Ohio. So the OP is telling the truth, but it comes off (no offense) as less of a thing of skill that got you this knowledge/positions and more of being born into the right family.

With that being said, I find it highly suspicious that a company that deals with manufacture and distribution of building supplies wants to get into the highly lucrative* world of miniature wargames...

Also, if you're having a hard time nailing down your game I cannot wait until you come to Dakka asking us for help writing your script .

* - Miniature wargames is not highly lucrative...

Edit: OP ninja'd my response... oh well, since OP has said we're done here gonna request a lock

We'll close this for now then.
