The game is still 2+ years away. This footage is the equivalent of Jared's before pics before he started the Subway diet. I'll keep watching it, one of the nice things is that the development team is extremely active with the community on the forums they recently launched.

I'm not trying to be a nay-sayer here. I think they'll release the game, but graphics wise will be just Ok, battles will never be able to hold a candle to PS2 warfare and such an ambitious metagame mechanics will take at least a year or a pair to fully implement after release. That's a realistic approach not what marketing guys are used to sell us, but at least you'll be able to have your 40k MMO game.
The game is coming out in LATE 2015. If you actually read the info you'd probably know this.
Can we get some links in the main post to all the info shown?

Everyone will be on 1 server. Assuming it becomes sufficiently popular, EC's battles will make PS2 look tiny.
That's quite a hilarious statement. I'm amazed how can be players so naive to believe Devs words. If it was as simple as making a big map and putting a lot of players there then there would be far more MMOFPS out there. The main reason this doesn't happen is technology limitations. Even PS2 with Forgelight, an engine designed to host and handle big masses of players in a MMO world struggles to give a good performance to a wide number of different machines and systems.
We talk about an engine developed by a huge international as is SOE. And now comes a comparetively small company, therefore with a far lesser budget, human resources and "know how" and promises a game that will make PS2 look small and have a very ambitious metagame, based on a common engine. Sorry but there's no way I can't believe them. They're generating too much high expectations that I predict they won't be able to fullfil.

Space Marine was a competent, if low content release. I enjoyed the multiplayer and the single player had the right tone. If they just expanded the customization and added larger battlefields and vehicles, it would be good.
If they go whole hog, with destroyable terrain, huge vehicles, and crazy war gear that really mixes things up, it will be very good. All of that is plausible, even from a purchased engine from ID.

Yeah. People seem to either forget or be unaware of the pages and pages of issues PlanetSide's dev team had to struggle through, that game took an insane amount of dedication to the goal of wanting to make their perfect game, with money making ideals thrown to the wind (hell the thing is Free to Play). Call me skeptical but that doesn't sound much like Games Workshop's (or any of their subcompanies) agenda.
For a multitude of reasons, anyone who thinks that this will be even half the game that Planetside is, in terms of size, gameplay, and dedicated developers, then you are either lying to yourself or just plain stupid.

I too really enjoyed the Space Marine Multiplayer, looking forward to this. Hopefully Eldar will be playable from launch, but still 2015 is a long way off.

While if you read his post he said a year or 2 after release which is something that I would agree with.

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

No no no. Clearly it will work like this:
Noob level 1 marine has scout armour. He then needs to collect or craft pieces of his beaky armour. Then he upgrades to Mk VII armour. Then he builds a bigger set of armour to wear over his armour. For every ten levels, he gets yet another layer of armour. At five layers he becomes a Dreadnought. then a Dreadknight. Then a Warhound Titan. All the way up to Emperor Class battleship, at which point he can begin running space raids for elite gear and his own planet.
More seriously, I would seriously considering trying the MMO out if there was a Sister of Battle faction or sub-faction. I don't play marines, my Sisters army wears them as hats.

The Pikkotekk solution seems interesting.
And as far as the "OMG ONE SERVER" i'd like to point out EVE Online, whilst technically one server, what developers tend to mean is "unsharded", since most mmo serverside iron tend to be of the HPC variety.
so as usual, benefit of the doubt, so forth so on etc etc.
