I've played D&D for a long time. The expansions always played merry hell with the game. It wasn't long befor people would take 1 thing from 1 book & then 1 from another and make super op characters. This would throw off every encounter. I see that happening in 40k.

Is your army bad at shooting but good at assault? Get an ally. Still bad at shooting? Get a superheavy, there's a book for it right here. Now your good at assault AND shooting.

The best thing about this for GW(and TSR, WotC, and Matel) is that every new edition you invalidate the old expansions. Thereby making your customers buy new books.

GW should start putting the rules for units with the unit when they sell it, like Warmachine does.
