Yeah its mine , he was pretty fun to paint. I left the black till last on him too lol, tho on him it was to save time since I had a tournament the next day and figured no one would notice that the black wasn't done through all the bling

Wow so its been a while since I did any painting on my praetor ( I had to paint 6 centurions up for a game), but I finally got some motivation to continue. First of all I decided to not blend any highlights because the thought of that made me not want to paint at all , they're just standard line highlights. Secondly, I did something I usually never do and that's take photos without touching up any of my highlights, so the model looks pretty sloppy at the moment. Thirdly, the magnet I had on his back wasn't glued on well so thats why theres a grey circle.

Alright so its been a while but I finally got my replacement Cataphractii armoured Praetor from forgeworld. The original one had the top gothic arch part completely filled in and was completely unacceptable. However my current problem is what colour to paint it as I'm not too big on Terminator characters for my Raven Guard. I do have Ultramarines so that could work, however I don't the same shades of blue right now. Any suggestions? (I'd prefer keeping it to a legion, and one who's scheme isn't black lol)

I'd prefer to keep away from any chaos stuff with my HH models (as much as possible). That being said I wouldn't mind trying out Death Guard, or really any other traitor legion (minus the chaos)

Alright so my buds have convinced me to raven guard the terminator praetor up too. The plan is to counts as calgar him up (calgar has a power sword and sick gun).

Hopefully I'll have him at least primed today

Been busy so I finally just got him assembled, but at least theres some pictures this time. I gotta say this is my favorite terminator model yet; the level of detail is amazing, you can even see the servos powering the armor. However I did manage to feth it up in two places, the first being his shoulder trim and the second being his head. I damaged the trim on his sword arm while clipping it from the sprue and had to cut my losses by getting rid of the trim until it was undamaged (circled the missing bit in red). As for the head, well its just not looking quite where he's firing, but I don't see it as as much of a loss since it would have hid even more detail.

Well that does it, I'm going to need to get some 30k models

30k has some great quality to its sculpts, I'm kind of sad forgeworld goes for a minimalist paintjob for such awesome models

Brass etched all up, I might have to go back and bend some of them to fit the curve of the armour but other than that hes looking good

I finally got some paint on this guy, but managed to lose his sword arm shoulder symbol along the way, oh well

Alright so finally some real progress; I got the main colours all blocked out so I can see the end result in my head better. However I'd still love feedback, especially about the white and gold areas and whether there's too much of one or the other or if some trim should be one colour as opposed to another

Nice, it's gettin there. Maybe a bit less white, I don't like the white stripe mid leg. It's lookin good though.

I'm inspired as well, because the latest FW Book has an Iron Hands Praetor who is a bit nasty, he has Terminator Armour, a Paragon Blade and a Volkite Charger, his fluff is a bit psycopathic he sounds more "World Eater" than "Iron Hand".

Anyway, I've relaunched my Pre-Heresy Iron hands that I started in 2011, but since then lots has been released by FW.

Also I spoke to LEGOBURNER a few weeks back asking for a 30k specific Board, because I think there is enough content for one, but he wanted me to evidence this claim? Would anyone else agreed with this? Not to subvert the board give me a PM, and I might start Post on this and test the waters.

I'm pretty jealous; the Iron Hands have such a strong presence with their Inviolate Armour rule, especially since the meta of 30k is marines. I can't wait to see the RG rules but they'll probably be butchered like they were in 6th.

As for models the Iron Hands squads actually look gorgeous, though it is a lot to buy that many squads worth of them.

@crabz should i change it to gold so it goes white gold gold gold white (in terms of trim colours)?

Well I bought all these well before the iron Hands Proper came out...







I'm going to buy the command Squad, and scatter some MkII and MkIII amongst them but I always figured with them being so "Down with the AD MECH" they would have all the latest gear and not have the much of the older marks and yet FW went the other way?

Also I got annoyed that FW sudden started to release the Larger packs with specific pattern Bolters, even tho it had never been determined that X bolter went with Y Armour...So doing my Tech Theme from above, I figured they would all have scoped hi-tech ones as opposed to the bulky Phobos ones?

Shows how off I was...

I wish terminators could buy something that you could count as storm shields because a ton of models are going to waste.

As for the marks of armour I think mkIII is more of a lateral upgrade, it's super suited for close combat but not actually better than mkII. Not sure why there's almost 0 mkIV shown since it is an improvement over both but yea. Also on the same page about the bolters, your body armour doesn't determine your gun and personally I hate the giant chunky ones.

So finally more progress, hopefully will have more pictures up tonight too
