Co'tor Shas wrote: HE SHOOK HIS FETHING HAND! It's not like he is suddenly giving aid to him. It is just being polite
(I realize that YOU are probably joking (I don't know you well enough to tell for sure), but I have heard this in all seriousness from some people.)
Calm your tits, I'm fairly certain he was just doing this to be polite, but America has kind of been anti-Cuba for a few decades. I'm all for this changing, so people can get Cuban cigars and realize that they weren't really missing anything. Also still serious about dirty dirty commies.
I mean, as a Head of State, I think he's sort of obligated to shake hands with people we may not necessarily like. I'm guessing he didn't do the "handshake-hug combo" that some men do. If he did do that, THEN I'd have a problem. During my 2 deployments I shook hands with plenty of local nationals who I'm sure were bomb makers, planters, snipers, etc. but I still did it because it was fairly required by my job.

I agree, I would think that he has to put on an air of politeness for people we 'don't get along with,' which is why people were upset at him shaking hands with Castro. Honestly we only have to worry if he did this:
I didn't see the handshake, did he do this? Has the die been cast? Are we doomed?!

Ayah shaking hands with the leader of Cuba is ok. Reagan shook Gorbachev's hand. Its stupid.
Even better, drop all issues with Cuba and move on. I needs me some resort time baby, and I don't want to dodge cartels trading AK fire for some decent pina coladas.

And yes, the fake sign language guy is actually a big deal. I stand by my sentiment that taking a picture at a funeral or memorial is tasteless but I also stipulated that it's not a big scandal or anything, either.

English isnt my native language, corrected it tough.
If its really the word you have a problem with, i thought the sarcasm was obvious enough.
Fair enough.
I wasn't offended. I was just giving you a heads-up that suggesting, even sarcastically, that an ambiguous group of people should "lynch" an African-American is probably not going to go over well.
At any rate:
Why not Clinton?

“But photos can lie. In reality, just a few seconds earlier the first lady was herself joking with those around her, Cameron and Schmidt included. Her stern look was captured by chance.”
“At the time, I thought the world leaders were simply acting like human beings, like me and you. I doubt anyone could have remained totally stony faced for the duration of the ceremony, while tens of thousands of people were celebrating in the stadium,” he wrote. “For me, the behaviour of these leaders in snapping a selfie seems perfectly natural.”

The fact that the photographer is defending the "selfie" rather than just ignoring the story altogether is just justifying it even more despite how pointless it is.
The fake sign language guy is maybe my favourite story of the year. Absolutely brilliant.
The list of really silly complaints about Obama are just boring and sad.
“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.
I'm not a big Barry fan and I can't see a reason I should have a problem with this. I mean, should we really expect all of these people to remain faux somber the entire time they're there due to some perceived obligation? I don't think so.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Especially when, according to one "news" channel that was on TV yesterday was saying, these photos happened during a part of the ceremony where people were singing and dancing, etc. and the funeral had been going on for about 4 hours.

Thanks for sharing. I love the image of Dubya showing Hilary pictures of his painting he made on his Ipad while Michelle, Laura, and others look on.
I alos like the one where Dubya is explaining somethign to Obama at the table, and Obama is giving him is complete attention. When you think about it; it must be really cool to "talk shop" with one of the few other people who has been in the Oval Office too.

I would say that they're all in their own little club. I would not be surprised if they all kept in touch in some regard. Whether they liked each other in the elections, etc... all of our presidents are part of that very small club of people to run our country. It's got to feel a little lonely after you're done.

I must say I really think our prime minister (the woman taking the selfie,) looks pretty in that pic, her having a wonderful time with Mr. Obama and all.
I always thought black looked good on her you know? Oh and the dress is nice too.
